Wayside Lodge offers guest rooms and is situated on a private farm, located approximately 80 km from Nelspruit. The lodge is ideal as a halfway stop between OR Tambo Airport and Kruger National Park / Mozambique. The lodge is also central to many of the attractions at the start of the Lowveld.

Breakfast and dinner can be arranged in advance. The lodge also boasts a well-stocked bar, a swimming pool, braai facilities, and secure parking for vehicles behind remote-controlled gates and electric fencing.
Waterval Onder is a small village situated at the base of the escarpment on the banks of the Elands River below a magnificent 228m waterfall. Hence the name which means ‘Below the Waterfall’. The village has not developed into a town like its sister town of Waterval Boven which is above the waterfall but is still a popular South African getaway spot.
Waterval Onder is a beautiful area and you will find the relaxation it has to offer hard to match. Things to do in the area include abseiling, hiking, zip line, paddle, stone circles and much more. Sodwala caves, Long Tom Pass, Krugerhof Museum are close by as well as Kaapse Hoop, a quaint village overlooking over the Lowveld. The area is rich in history relating to the Anglo-Boer war.
