How do I get to Turaco Lodge?

Turaco Lodge is situated within Marloth Park, Mpumalanga. Find us just off the N4 between Malelane and Komatipoort. Once inside Marloth Park, turn right at the first road (Kudu). Turaco Lodge is about 500m along on the right hand side. Our GPS coordinates are -25 23'40.09" & 31 45'54.68" We can arrange to collect our guests from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit. Activities:

Game viewing within Marloth Park, on foot (guided or self), self drive or in our Land Rover. We are close to the Crocodile Bridge and Malelane Gates into Kruger National Park. Tiger fishing in the nearby Komati River. One-on-one interaction with elephants at a nearby reserve. Golf at Leopard Creek, Malelane Golf Course or Komatipoort Golf Club.

Clothing and Accessories:

The weather is usually hot for most of the year and mild in the winter months, although it can also get cold in the winter evenings.
Marloth Park is located fairly close to the coast of Mozambique and therefore is at a low altitude with high humidity levels. The weather is mostly warm to hot with slightly cooler evenings, except in the winter months (May to July) when the days are mild and the evenings tend to be cold, so make sure to pack the following:

- Shorts and t-shirts or short-sleeved shirts for daytime (cotton is best for the heat)
- Jeans or long pants / slacks for the evenings and for walks in the bush
- Good walking shoes
- Socks, especially if you plan to walk in shorts
- Sandals for wearing around the lodge
- Windbreaker / raincoat (you never know)
- Lightweight jersey (again, you never know)
- Warm jacket and "beanie" for possible nighttime game drives
- Hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Swimsuit (for that refreshing dip at the end of the day!)
Since you will probably spend a fair amount of time in the sun DON'T FORGET A GOOD SUNBLOCK!

Health and Climate:

Marloth Park is in a malaria area. Be sure to check with your travel clinic or pharmacist for the appropriate preventative medication. Bring along a good insect repellant.

Turaco Lodge has a well-stocked first aid kit but please remember to stock up on any chronic medication (as well as your regular medication if you have any serious allergies such as bee stings etc) for your stay with us. The nearest pharmacy is in Komatipoort about 15 kilometres away.
