ThornForest Luxury Bush Lodge offers bed and breakfast, and is located in Marloth Park, a nature conservancy situated on the southern border of the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
The horizon is ablaze, as the sun sinks into its wild bed. The fireflies are flexing their wings as the fire crackles to life. A cricket set’s the pitch for his band, and the cicadas awaken with an unmistakable rhythm. These are the opening bars of the wild bushveld symphony at ThornForest Luxury Bush Lodge.
All air-conditioned private suites have beds that are draped with a mosquito net, one suite has an additional single bed. With in-room complimentary tea and coffee, filtered water (filtered on-site) in your mini-bar fridge, is provided. The en-suite bathrooms in each bedroom are fitted with a shower, a washbasin, and a toilet. Thoughtful touches to ensure that your African Bush stay has all the makings to encourage relaxation.
A sparkling plunge pool to cool off after your day’s adventures or just to relax by on a lazy day, is available and open all year round. Evening boma fires are a traditional African thing, dinner is ideal seated next to the fire and under the stars.
There is a continental breakfast included with your overnight stay. For an early morning start, your next day breakfast is placed in the room’s mini-bar fridge, giving you freedom to have breakfast when it suits you. If there is a preference for your breakfast to be served, this is available on request and at no additional charge. Breakfast can be upgraded at an extra cost, to a cooked English-style breakfast.
Dinner and packed picnic lunches are available, on request. For guests returning to ThornForest Luxury Bush Lodge after an days outing, and who order a packed picnic lunch, your picnic will be in a cooler basket. We happily assist with your bookings for safari drives in Kruger National Park and day tours to the Panorama route, Maputo and Mozambique.
A mobile spa is also available, as an optional extra. All optional extras need to be arranged for in advance. Contact your hosts for any enquires, to make special arrangements or if you need further details.
The property has an integrated hybrid solar system, gas water heaters and an outdoor entertainment area with a plunge pool with martini seats, sun loungers, a braai area, a firepit, and an undercover picnic table with picturesque woodland views all around.
An additional picnic table in the bush, provides you with additional outdoor seating and another opportunity to enjoy the view of the bushveld.

Marloth Park is a 3,000-hectare wildlife conservancy and holiday town situated on the southern border of the Kruger National Park, between Malelane and Komatipoort in Mpumalanga. Marloth Park boasts four of the Big Five, with the exception of the elephant. However, elephants can often be seen splashing about in the Crocodile River that divides Marloth Park from the Kruger National Park. Rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard can be found in Lionspruit, a separate game reserve within Marloth Park, while other wildlife such as kudu, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, baboon, bushbuck, vervet monkeys, nyala, impala, warthog, and ostrich are free to roam between the units.
