Ndebele Open-Air Museum: Located on the same grounds as the mission station, this “living village” is world-renowned for its colourful, geometric murals and traditional beadwork. Guests can observe authentic Ndebele culture and purchase unique artisanal crafts directly from the residents.

Wildlife Viewing: Various nearby private reserves, such as those near Loskop Dam, are home to over 70 species of mammals, including giraffe, kudu, and zebra. Professional guided drives can be arranged to experience the local fauna.
Hiking & Trails: The area is a premier destination for hikers. The Kingdom Trail and Cycad Hiking Trail offer breathtaking views of the Olifants River Gorge. For a unique challenge, the Zip-X trails provide rugged paths where rare cycads (found only in this region) can be spotted.

Middelburg Country Club: A stately 18-hole championship course. Originally built in the 1890s, the second nine was designed by South African legend Gary Player, making it a “must-play” for golfing enthusiasts.
Kranspoort Golf Reserve: Situated within a wildlife sanctuary, this unique 9-hole course (with different tees for the second nine) was designed by Louis van der Walt in collaboration with Peter Matkovich. It offers the rare experience of golfing while animals roam freely across the fairways.
Water Sports & Recreation The estate is surrounded by major water bodies including Loskop, Witbank, and Kruger Dam.
Recreation: These dams are famous for professional angling (carp and kurper), sailing, and powerboating.
Seasonal Note: Please be aware that during the summer rainfall season, water levels at Kruger Dam (located right on our doorstep) and the nearby rivers can be very high, offering spectacular views but requiring caution for certain water activities.
