*The Legendary Notties Hotel is located in the heart of the Nottingham Road Village, close to golfing estates, great trout fishing dams and the unique shops of the Natal Midlands Meander. Festive pub and full a la carte menu available daily. *The first white settlers in the Midlands were the Voortrekkers, who began leaving the area when Britain annexed the Boer Republic of Natalia in 1843. *They often sold their farms to the newly arrived British settlers. By the 1850s there were few of the original Voortrekker families left in the district, although many farm names in the area still have an Afrikaans/Dutch origin. *The first British settlers in Nottingham Road were members of the King/Ellis family: John King and his wife Janet (nee Ellis), their three-year-old son James and a three-month-old baby daughter Helen, and Janet’s brother James Ellis and sisters Helen and Elizabeth. They arrived in Natal in 1849, attracted by the Byrne Immigration Scheme, one of many schemes that tried to lure settlers to the largely uninhabited interior of KZN. Each adult male paid ten pounds, which covered the cost of the sea voyage from England to Durban and gave every man twenty acres of land. Many found their allotments were infertile and totally unsuitable for farming, leaving them the choice of returning home to England or purchasing better land for themselves.

Cancellation Policy:
- If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit. - If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 75% of the deposit. - If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit. - If cancelling 999 days before arrival, forfeit 5% of the deposit.

Cancellation Policy: Due to the Covid Pandemic Please note our policies which have been adapted going forward to the following.
Any booking made and or confirmed from the 16th March 2020 our cancellation policy will stand as is.
Confirmed bookings for which we have received a deposit or full payment, will be secured and your deposit/payment held in credit. Bookings can be amended up to 1 year from the date of the original booking. Please note only one amendment to travel dates may be made and should the season change to a higher season or a rate change, the new rate will apply.
Any travel changes to bookings within 14 days of the travel period will incur 100% cancellation fees.
If you cancel due to COVID, Death or someone sick we will be more than happy to keep your payment until you are able to travel again, but you will need to give us proof of test/ doctors certificate to qualify to this or if the Travel restrictions happen worldwide, we will also be aware of this, we will keep your money for later travels , but we will not do refunds
All refunds will incur a 5% admin fee
More than 30 days prior to arrival full refund will be paid back less Admin fee
More than 14 days prior to arrival - 50% of full booking total refunded less Admin fee
Less than 14 days prior to arrival - full payment is due 0% will be refunded
PLEASE NOTE: Cancellations will only be accepted by email this needs to be mailed to reservations@nottieshotel.co.za and not telephonically this includes all Covid tests that may be required to cancel your booking.
For bookings made through a travel agent or online booking platform (e.g Booking.com, Expedia) please contact them directly, we will honour the same cancellation policy, as above, for pre-paid rates via them as well. If you are able to claim your hotel stay via your travel insurance, please let us know and we will arrange for any documents you require to be sent to you.
If you would like to book with us for a future date, we have very flexible terms and conditions on our best available rates and packages; bookings may be cancelled one day prior to your arrival date, without any fees being incurred. If you have booked a flexible rate and would like to change your arrival date, please contact the reservations teams or your preferred booking partner who can amend your booking for you.

The Nottingham Road Hotel is situated on the R103 Nottingham Road turn off, 8km from the N3 Highway if you are coming from Durban or Johannesburg.
