All accommodation is en-suite and every Hawklee guest suite features a private Jacuzzi spa bath and flat screen TV with DSTV. Our cottages have beautiful views of the Lions River from the sitting areas, beds and spa baths. Our Garden Cottage has a lovely secluded garden where you can sit and enjoy the view while drinking your tea. We also have a beautiful private Honeymoon suite, The Mallard, filled with lots of luxury items to test your taste buds and your own private spa bath for that romantic occasion.

Cottages are individually decorated and feature a spa bath inside the room and an en-suite shower. Flat screen TV with DSTV, fully stocked bar fridge, bubble bath, soaps, tea and coffee are all supplied for your enjoyment.

Guests can order a picnic basket lunch to enjoy on the riverbank or while exploring the attractions of the surrounding countryside.
We are close to all amenities of the Midlands Meander and the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains and only 1 ½ hours’ pleasurable drive to the coast.

This lovely self-catering cottage is set at the back of the garden. It boasts a King size bed with a Double sleeper couch. It has a separate shower bathroom & basic kitchenette with table & chairs.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
The management at Hawklee reserves the right to change cottages for “best-fit” if necessary. 100% payment is required for the booking. Dinner from a set menu is available on request and need to be booked directly. Your dietary preference must be noted at the time of booking to ensure that we are able to accommodate you in this regard. Check-in time is strictly from 14h00 and Check-out time is 10h00 Procedure for Arrival of guests to book in: - Guest arrives in their vehicle & park in parking area. - The guest remains in their vehicle until a Hawklee Country House (HCH) staff member invites them in and leads them to the new reception area. - The guest/s will the be shown to their chalet/s & given all the required. - Cardholder & ID/Passport is required at check-in / preferably prior to arrival - Credit card used for online payment to be present at check-in
From the N3 take the Nottingham Road (after Mooi River Toll Plaza) turn off on the left, at top of the off ramp turn right and follow the road for about 8km’s on your left you will see The Junction Complex, turn right, travel under the railway line and take a left into Fort Nottingham Road. (Engen Garage and Spar will be on your right) Continue for approximately 10kms on the tar road, you will see the Hawklee Country House sign, the road becomes a gravel road. Continue for about 3kms on the gravel road. The entrance to Hawklee is the 2nd green gate to your left after you have crossed the river. From Durban King Shaka Airport Take The N3 to Durban, then at the intersection take Pietermaritzburg, carry on the N3 through Pietermaritzburg until the Nottingham Road turn off From the N3 take the Nottingham Road turn off on the left, at top of the off ramp turn right and follow the road for about 8km’s on your left you will see The Junction Complex, turn right, travel under the railway line and take a left into Fort Nottingham Road. (Engen Garage and Spar will be on your right) Continue for 10kms on the tar road, do not TURN OFF THE ROAD, you will see the Hawklee Country House sign, the road becomes a gravel road. Continue for about 3kms on the gravel road. The entrance to Hawklee is the 2nd green gate to your left after you have crossed the river. It will take +- 2 hours to get to us from the airport.
