Forty Winks is located on a 143 ha game farm in the Kamberg Valley, the heart of Natals` trout fly fishing destinations. Game consists of Zebra, Blesbok, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, oribi, reedbuck, duiker Jackal.
Two trout dams stocked with rainbow and brown trout, are free to guests to fish on a catch and release basis, only with ethical and recognised fly fishing tackle.
Walking, cycling, swimming (in the dams) birding, 4x4 trails, relaxing on the verandahs overlooking the trout dams, Springrove dam and up to the Giants Castle area of the Berg leave guests feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Cottages are immaculately furnished and fully equipped for self catering, cottage 1 and 2 are semi-detached and can be opened up to create an 8 sleeper unit. Cottage 3 is the Honeymoon cottage, separate from others for privacy. All cottages have fireplaces, braai stands, double carports, separate entrances, full bathrooms. Cottages 1 and 2 have a separate toilet and are wheelchair friendly to the recommendations of the handicapped society.
On the Midlands Meander, close to Kamberg and Highmoor Nature Reserves,14 km from Nottingham Road shops, 9 kms from Rosetta. Restaurants in the area 20kms from Mooi River.

Accommodation at Forty Winks:
Cottages 1 and 2 are open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge, opening out onto a veranda with expansive country views overlooking our two trout dams, the Springrove dam, and up to the Giants Castle area of the Berg. Both cottages sleep 4, are semi-detached and can be opened up to sleep 8. Full bathrooms and a separate toilet complete the cottages.
Cottage 3 is a large Honeymoon cottage, sleeps 2, with open plan bedroom with a King size bed, slow burning combustion stove with glass panels, kitchen, separate bathroom and separate sun room to admire the view. The lounge sliding doors open out onto a veranda with expansive country views overlooking our two trout dams, the Springrove dam, and up to the Giants Castle area of the Berg.
Situated on the Kamberg Road 9.2km from Rosetta, the 143 Hectare farm is a place that offers rest but plenty to do and see as well. close to the Midlands Meander, and Kamberg, Highmoor and Giants Castle Ezemvelo Nature Reserves. Restaurants at Rosetta, Nottingham Road and Mt West.
Wildlife On the farm you’ll find Blesbok, Red Hartebeest, Duiker (one hand reared that likes bananas), Oribi, Zebra, Black Wildebeest and Reedbuck. Occasionally one can see a porcupine and Jackal especially at night. For the bird enthusiast we have Fish Eagles, Vultures, resident Jackal Buzzard, Owls, Waterfowl and, if you’re lucky enough, you might spot a Secretary Bird. CAUTION! Wild animals are dangerous and cannot be approached, we ask that you don’t interfere with the wildlife. The zebras may seem tame as they are around the cottages all the time but don’t be fooled, please keep your distance. Kindly note: Absolutely no hunting allowed. Fishing Two well stocked trout dams, both rainbow and brown trout. Dams feature annualy in Kamberg Fly fishing Festival. No Rod fee per day for guests, catch and release only, Ethical fly fishing tackle only, float tubes permissable. Hiking and Walks The Kamberg Nature Reserve is 30 mins from the farm, there’s a great hike to some of the best bushman paintings. They have guided walks two or three times per day and a small restaurant with scones, muffins and toasted sandwiches. They also have a small theatre where they show a documentary on the Bushman and settlers in the this area, with more information on the bushman paintings. It’s a good day’s outing for our longer stay visitors looking for a day trip. You are welcome to walk anywhere on the farm. Water sports Swimming in summer. Mountain Bike riding On the property (8km of farm road) and surrounds. 4x4 Trails We have approximately 8km of dirt roads and encourage you to use them with 4x4 vehicles only. no motor bikes or Quad bikes due to noise.

From Johannesburg, proceed south on N3 to Mooi River Toll Plaza, exit N3, take right at stop street, take left at stop street, proceed toward Rosetta on R103, in rosetta, opposite Ugly Duckling shop, turn Right onto Kamberg Rd, proceed 9.2kms to Colsport Farms/Forty Winks.
From Durban, proceed north on N3 , at Mt West exit N3, turn right at stop street towards Nottingham Road, in Nottingham road village, turn right at stop street, continue to Rosetta on R103, in Rosetta, opposite Ugly Duckling shop, turn left onto Kamberg Rd, proceed 9.2 km to Colsport Farm /Forty Winks
