Luxury self-catering with wildlife on your doorstep. In Zulu, Cambalala means relax, so as youd expect we’ve tucked our chalets away in a quiet corner of the Lodge grounds.
In all we have five units: four luxury units and our villa. The luxury units, furnished in contemporary style to a high standard, comfortably accommodate six adults and two children. The villa is much larger, which will suit you if you’re looking for a more spacious property. Located on a nine-hole course designed by Gary Player, this 4-star resort is situated on the banks of the Sabie River just ten minutes from Kruger National Park. The three on-site swimming pools, four tennis courts, kid’s playground and mini-golf course will keep the youngsters happy. Against a verdant backdrop of lush green lawns and dense woodland, there are plenty of opportunities to get up close to some of the area’s wildlife without having to leave the estate. Guests can follow one of the nature walk trails along the river bank or, from the safety of the purpose-built hippo hide, watch the resident hippo potter in the shallows. If you need it, there’s a laundry and even a car wash - they’ve really thought of everything.
In Room Facilities:
Each of our units offers a high standard of accommodation at an affordable price. They’re spacious enough to be perfect for a family or a group of friends to socialise together or have a bit of peace and quiet. Air conditioning in all bedrooms is standard and with a fully equipped kitchen, bedrooms designed with comfort in mind and cosy living rooms, whichever you choose, it’s your home away from home. But it’s the finishing touches that really make a difference, so we’ll supply fresh linen, towels and the all important hairdryer. Daily cleaning is included too and that includes the braai, of course. Who wants to spend their vacation making the bed?
Establishment Facilities:
Cambalala’s location means you’ll never be short of things to do. Within Kruger Park Lodge, there’s so much choice you could be forgiven for not wishing to step out at all. If you don’t want to ditch your fitness routine, you’ll be happy to learn there are designated jogging routes, as well as nature trails if you wish to wander at a more leisurely pace. You’ll find three swimming pools, a kids’ playground with trampoline and giant chess. And you don’t have to stop just because the sun’s gone down. The four tennis courts are floodlit at night though you’ll probably want to change out of your gear to watch the evening entertainment if you visit in peak season. Of course, we’ll forgive you if you prefer to sit back and relax with a drink on your private deck and light up the braai.
Adventure-seekers will be spoilt for choice. The Sabie River affords the opportunity to test your mettle on twenty grade 2 and 3 rapids. Nearby, you could try ziplining, quad biking and abseiling, all designed to get the adrenaline racing in a setting as thrilling as the activities you’re tackling. Take to the air by helicopter, microlight or hot air balloon to savour Mpumalanga’s breathtaking landscapes from above, or jump in to the water for a canyoning, geckoing or kayaking adventure. Caution - you will get wet! If you prefer to stick to dry land, mountain biking or horse-riding are activities that all the family can enjoy together. If all this sounds just a little too adventurous, then of course there’s a plethora of hiking trails or opportunities to fish for trout in the well-stocked Sabie River. Whatever you decide to do, keep your eyes peeled. The animals are inquisitive in these parts and have a habit of popping up to see what you’re up to. This diverse region deserves your time. Don’t be in a rush to leave.
