Boplaas Guesthouse - Boplaas Estate is in the heart of the Kouebokkeveld, just past Ceres and the tiny hamlet, Op-die-Berg. Established in 1743, Boplaas is home to more than quality export fruit and old-fashioned values. As the oldest family business in South Africa, we have stood the test of time and offer you the knowledge and dedication of an unbroken lineage of 10 generations of farmers on this beautiful, fertile land.
The quality of Boplaas fruit speaks for itself, locally and internationally. The freezing cold winters and balmy summers in the pristine Winterberg Mountains make our apples, citrus, pears and peaches the juiciest and sweetest in the valley.
Historically, the proud old homestead at Boplaas is the original home of the van der Merwe family. This national monument is open to visitors by appointment. It`s also home to the work of one of South Africa`s most acclaimed Afrikaans poets, Boerneef.

If we had to describe what Boplaas Guesthouse is about in two words, we would have to resort to our mother tongue, Afrikaans, because geselligheid and samesein say it best. We van Der Merwe brothers remember our childhood home always full of family and friends on weekends. There was always space for another soul at the old homestead and everyone was welcome. Today, this tradition lingers on. At Boplaas Guesthouse we honour our parents legacy and invite you to come and share in the beauty of the Koue Bokkeveld and the bounty of the farm with us.
There is a lot to do here for the adventurer and more than enough peace and quiet for soul searchers. In summer, the dam offers cool respite from the midday heat and in winter, the crackling log fire is the perfect accompaniment to the beautiful views of our very own, snow-capped Table Mountain.
