Take a 4x4 tour up Sani Pass into Lesotho. Ride a horse along the ridges. Hike to some of the stunning caves and waterfalls in the nearby Nature Reserve. Catch a trout on fly. Come here to relax and get away from it all. Cycle the mountain bike trail through forests and along rivers. Swim in the dam on a hot summers day. Take a picnic basket to Kenmo Lake. Sip on some gluhwein in front of the fire on a cold winters night.
The Old Hatchery Restaurant is a round thatch "Zulu-type" building with a cozy and warm atmosphere indoors and overlooks our trout dam and waterfall. We serve breakfasts for all our B&B guests as well as any passers by. We open at 7am for breakfasts and stay open to serve lunches till 2.30pm in the afternoon. Dinner service starts at 6pm and we are open to our guests and the public.
Our menu has a wide variety of gorgeous foods from salads, oxtail, eisbein, sirloin, fillet, lamb shank, trout, hake, chicken, home-made pasta to curries.
Accommodation at The Old Hatchery:
Oak Tree Lodge - Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Our Bed & Breakfast unit, Oak Tree Lodge, has a large lounge upstairs with little reading corners and a patio out front where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Berg.
There are 6 en-suite bedrooms in Oak Tree Lodge. Each has a bath and shower. TV with DSTV, tea & coffee facilities. Wi-Fi is available in the Restaurant.
All breakfasts for our B&B guests are catered for in the restaurant which overlooks the waterfall and trout dam. The Oak Tree Lodge rates include breakfast.
Kingfisher Cottage - Self Catering Accommodation:
This 3 bedroom unit has one double en-suite bedroom and 2 twin rooms with full self-catering facilities and braai area.
There is a TV in this unit but please bring your own DSTV decoder.
We have 3 of these delightful little cabins that are suitable for couples. Each of them has a fireplace, bathroom, kitchenette and braai facilities. The 4th cabin has a lounge but no fireplace.
From the parking area, you walk along the wooden decking and over our gorgeous little waterfall to get to the cabins. No TV’s in these units.

Restaurant at The Old Hatchery:
We are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetarian options are available and there is a bar alongside the restaurant.
For those chilly days and evenings we have a cozy stone fireplace which takes good care of the warmth.
All breakfasts for our B&B guests are catered for in the restaurant which overlooks the waterfall and trout dam, offering spectacular sunset views for those before dinner drinks. However self catering guests are welcome to join us for any meal.
