Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge Activities:
The valley has emerged as the world's most important "dawn man" fossil site - the place where apemen evolved into humans.
Its labyrinthine caves yielded more fossils of apemen and early humans than the rest of the world combined.
Recently there was an international interest when the first complete apeman skeleton was exposed there and, at Driemolen, the most complete apeman skull so far.

Staff were friendly - Room disappointing - Housekeeping poor - Carpet extremely dirty... Sigaret buds and used straws on grass in restaurant area. Facility nice but needs better maintenance!

The treatment was great, everyone was friendly and the breakfast was perferct thanks to Abbie the chef and Gerald the manager was very friendly and the welcome was good. I am even planning to visit again by the end of the year. Thanks for the best welcome.

It would be better if we had been informed that there was a wedding on at the lodge. The loud music all afternoon and evening was very off-putting.

We had a wonderful time and were shown interesting details of the surroundings at arrival. The food served for dinner (accompanied by an excellent wine) and breakfast was delicious and served as well friendly as efficiently.

The Rabbit Hole Hotel and Restaurant in Krugersdorp North offers quality accommodation and excellent food in a charmingly surreal setting. It is a favourite of many business travelers to Chamdor, Krugersdorp and the rest of the West Rand.
