It is home to abundant wildlife such as buffalo, lion, giraffe, hippopotamus, zebra, a large variety of antelope and close to 50% of the bird species found in South Africa paradise for bird watching and wild life photography.
This malaria-free area is beautiful in its diversity, ranging from open plains to typical bush veld and interesting rocky outcrops, caves and koppies.

By Car /From Gauteng:
Take the N1 Highway to Polokwane (Pietersburg)
Take the Kranskop toll plaza exit to Nylstroom, at the top of the off ramp, turn right to Marble Hall, drive 17,1 km on the R33 until the Sandfontein turnoff, turn left and proceed along the gravel road for 4 kms until an intersection.
Turn right to Boekenhout and continue with this road for 10,3 kms until you reach the Monate gate on the right hand side.
Approximately 2 hours from Johannesburg and 1,5 hours from Pretoria.
By Air:
Monate has two helipads & an airstrip ( please contact reception for more information).

Our Main Gate is open from 08h00 17h00. Please be advised that there will be a gate guard for pre-arranged arrivals & departures.
