Merry Pebbles Holiday Resort and Caravan Park is situated on the banks of the upper reaches of the Sabie River within the municipal boundary of the mountain village Sabie, 1km from the village centre. The accommodation avaialable is self-catering and ranges from, chalet`s, bungalows, cottages to lodges. Accommodation on a B&B basis is available as well. All accommodation units have colour TV with 16 assorted DSTV channels available these include (M-Net, Kyk-Net, Movie Magic, Super Sport, Cartoons, Discovery and certain local channels). Caravan and camping sites are also on offer at the resort.

Merry Pebbles Holiday Resort is a family orientated holiday resort which is situated ideally for use as the gateway to the Kruger National Park. Merry Pebbles Resort is owner managed and is a graded establishment, both The Automobile Association of South Africa in the category (Highly Recommended Self-catering Accommodation) as well as by The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (3 Star) grading.

Merry Pebbles offers our guests more than just a stop over, the resort is in itself a holiday destination with facilities which include the likes of heated and cold water pools, water slides, flood-lit tennis court, mini-golf (Putt Putt), outdoor chess, entertainment hall, play parks with trampolines, mountain bike and hiking trails start right on the resort boundary. The Sabie River at these upper reaches is safe and can be used for tubing, swimming, trout fishing, and canoeing. All these activities and extensive facilities onsite ensure that your entire family will enjoy their vacation at this one stop holiday venue.

At Merry Pebbles Resort we pride ourselves with the fact that the resort itself is a holiday destination, services that add value to the destination include gas-refills, ice and firewood sales, coin operated laundry, ATM, WiFi & internet access, shops that sell basic commodities and a liquor store. Therefore once you have arrived at the resort there is no need to leave the premises again, unless of course you want to explore the sights and scenes in the area.

With Sabie being situated centrally on the Panorama Route as well as being the gateway to the Kruger National Park, access to all the popular tourist attractions are within reach of an easy day trip. To mention a few, The Kruger National Park (Phabeni gate) 52km, Gods Window, Bourke`s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrims Rest, Sudwala Caves and numerous waterfalls (Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Horse Shoe, Sabie, Mac Mac, Forest, Maria Shires, Berlin and Lisbon Falls) you will be spoilt for choice.

The town of Sabie (Rapport & Kwela, Town of the Year 2012) a small forestry village is situated at an elevation of 1050m above the sea level on the Mpumalanga Escarpment and is free of malaria and bilharzia. Sabie is in a summer rainfall area with an annual average of 1000mm of rainfall. Summer temperatures fall in the minimum range of of 18C to a maximum average of 31C, whilst the winter average low`s are 3C and average highs of 23C can be expected. Snow although not every year does cover the mountain tops in the vacinity from time to time. Hence the name Thaba Chweu - White Mountain given to the municipal area.

No Motorcycles or Quad Bikes are permitted onto the premises at all!

(Accommodates 6 adults privately with an option of a sleeper couch in the lounge), the lodges are the premier accommodation units on offer at Merry Pebbles. The units comprise of a double story building, three bedroom (1x double bed, 4x single beds, with linen), two bathrooms (1x shower, toilet, basin, 1x bath, toilet, basin and bath towels), kitchen (four plate stove with oven, microwave oven, fridge, crockery and cutlery), living area (sleeper couch with linen, fire place), dining room, patio and furniture.

When the sleeper couch is used a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children can be accommodated. (Provide own swimming towels please).

The units are serviced daily, excepting for the crockery and cutlery. Colour TV with DSTV 16 channels are provided (M-net, Kyk-net, Movie Magic, cartoons and Supersport options are available) as well as a braai area. All rooms have ceiling fans, and wall heaters. Covered shade parking for two vehicles are provided.

Caravan and Camping
(maximum 8 persons and 1 vehicles per site. Our tariffs are based on the amount of people and therefore no extra charge for an extra site) level sites, all with 15amp three-pin plug, braai / BBQ (supply your own grid (+/- 600mm) , as well as TV antenna or dish). Four large ablution facilities, three sculleries, coin operated laundromat as well as a chemical disposal dump are provided on site.

The sites are a minimum of 10m x 10m in size, level, grassed and shady. Sites are not allocated but work on a first come first serve basis.

Sites are charged per person, with an emphasis on space, no charge for extra sites. Each tent and caravan should have their own power point and space to enjoy the freedom of the area.

The recommended procedure is to reserve one site per vehicle and for one tent or caravan, then you can relax in your own space. No crowding! 180 caravan and camping sites available.

Due to the fact that Merry Pebbles is a graded establishment no contractors, permanent, long term stay or labourers will be accommodated only bona fide recreational travellers are permitted.

Old age pensioners, CCSA as well as AA members are eligable for a discount during certain periods of stay.
