Pearly Beach Town Activities and Tourist information

Pearly Beach

Situated 185 km (2.5 hours drive) from Cape Town, and 25 km (20 minutes) from Gansbaai this peaceful small town is still relatively undeveloped. It is still a sleepy and mellow coastal town. Many houses are only used during holidays and weekends.

The beach of Pearly Beach is famous as it seems to continue forever. It is perfect for long walks and cycling.

Pearly Beach is a popular angling spot, and on some weekends the beach is lined with fishermen.

On the inland side of Pearly Beach is one of the world's hottests botanical hotspots. Several plants species are endemic to a small area of lime soils near Pearly Beach.

Southern Right Whales come to the area to mate and calve from about Sept to January.
