The Brightwater Commons

The Randburg Waterfront, built in 1996, was comprised of a large oval of shops and restaurants surrounding a lake in a natural depression in President Ridge in Randburg fed by the Jukskei River.

The new Randburg Waterfront re-launched under the name The Brightwater Commons, is designed around the concept of an urban shopping space - a transformation from a stark harbor and warehouse development into a welcoming small town streetscape.

The total exterior component of this refurbishment comprises soft landscaping, paved walkways, a village green and a redesigned watercourse, together creating a totally new environmental and urban experience.

The centre now boasts rolling lawns with leisurely walking paths cutting across, a Commons with a performance stage set to the fore of these (where many of musical events take place), as well as a unique tented promotional court that can accommodate up to 40 exhibitors under cover.

The Brightwater Commons has been designed for a sense of wellbeing creating an enabling framework for spontaneous social interaction. The visitor is encircled by trees and breezes, water and sunlight.

Services offered include: Banking, Decor & Furniture Entertainment, Fashion & Sport, Flea Market, Gifts & Art, Health & Beauty, Restaurants, Specialty Stores, Supermarkets, Travel & Outdoor and Technology.
