Peacock scatter as you turn off Suid Agter Paarl Road and drive up to Fairview past the famous gost tower, which delights adults and children alike. The welcome is warm as you enter the tastingroom, where a large selection of wines and cheeses await sampling.

Fairview is nestled into the side of Paarl Mountain, with an uninterrupted view of Table Mountain. The farm passed through numerous hands until 1937, when it was purchased by Charles Back's grandfather.

Winemaking was already established here then, with folkore telling of a local Doctor prescibing teaspoons of wine from the farm to poorly children. We are proud to prescribe Fairview wines and cheeses as embellishment to your tables and lifestyles.

The various activities of Fairview are guided by Charles Back, who was recognised as South African Wine maker of the year in 1996. Fairview has won various awards like champion SA Wine (for Zinfandel 1995) in the prestigious International Wine and Spirits competition, and the Shiraz 1993 won one of three South Africa golds at the International Wine Challenge.

The terroir yields quality grapes which are fashioned into balanced accesible wines. Noble cultivars, Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Semillon hold centre stage, backed by such gems as Malbec and Chenin.

Fairview is widely know for its cheeeses and sample Jersey Milk Brie and Camembert, Italian and French style goats and sheep's cheeses whilst visiting the cellar.
