Vrede en Lust
, derived from the Dutch "Peace and Eagerness" is a modern wine farm, building on a 315 year old foundation.
The farm is located in the centre of the Cape Winelands, on the eastern slopes of the Simonsberg, and nestled in between the top notch Rupert de Rothschild (Fredericksburg) and Plaisir de Merle estates. A stay on our farm is a unique experience that keeps our guests coming back.
Our accommodations are located in arms length of the vineyards with large oak trees providing ample shade. From here one can walk run or cycle through the vineyards all the way to the top of the farm or up into the forests above for a breathtaking view of the region.
With Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch all in close proximity to the farm there is always something to do.
The Manor House and Guest Cottages are ideal for wedding parties held at Vrede en Lust in which we offer exclusive irresistible packages. Whether you are staying for a week or just for the weekend, be sure that you will enjoy your exclusive private time in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Each room / cottage is uniquely and individually furnished and has a safe for guests personal belongings.
All guests have access to our solar heated swimming pool, pool bar, gym, steamroom and boma fireplace under the oaktree.
We also have a restaurant and wine tasting centre on the farm.
