Lots of places of interest to explore and enjoy. In addition to the attractions listed below, a fun outing is the tequila tasting - on a local farm- booking is essential. Clay pigeon shooting can be arranged for enthusiasts as well. Seasonal fishing can also be enjoying in this area. Booking would be needed in advance and subject to availability of the activity. Game and bird viewing is very popular in the area along with hikes, [various lengths.] Local art galleries, sport facilities and lovely restaurants and cafes fill up any extra time you may have. Excellent Museums to visit and guided tours also arranged.

Clothing and Accessories:

We live in a semi-desert, so in summer our temperatures get very high and so it is recommended to bring light clothing, hats, sunglasses and plenty of sun screen.

In winter the temperatures get very low and often snow on surrounding areas affects town as well. Mohair scarfs, jerseys and beanies, gloves are often needed.

Health and Climate:

Semi desert so extreme temps in Summer and Winter.

This comfortable cottage is either self catering or bed and breakfast. It is suitable for small families or 4 adults travelling together. Bathroom consists of a shower room for both bedrooms. Garden access and use of plunge pool also. Lovely birdlife.

Garden View Queen

A comfortable room with direct garden access, ensuite bathroom, cotton linen, and beverage tray. Cool in summer and warm in winter helped with air conditioning. Views are of the garden and birdlife is attracted to its greenery.

Terms and Conditions

Please note that the bank charges on electronic fund transfer (EFT) option is available to South African residents and foreigners provided all charges are to their own account. The option to pay the remaining balance by credit or debit card is available on site. Regrettably no Diners or American express accepted.

POP of deposit payments to be emailed to reservations@villareinet.co.za - If no POP is received of a deposit, we assume you do not want to book.  Should you still arrive the booking will be subject to availability . 

CHILDREN u12 -  ONLY Garden Cottage The Mouse Bird or The Lilac Room are SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN SHARING PARENT ACCOMMODATION.

Directions:

 All roads lead to Graaff-Reinet so we hope! Should you arrive from the North (Middelburg/ Cradock) or South (Aberdeen/ Port Elizabeth) follow the map till you reach the 4 way stop south of the famous Dutch Reformed Church that dominates the Church Street.

- Turn west into Somerset Street, cross over one 4 way stop, Somerset and Stockenstroom, and number 83 is on your left side. 

- Should you arrive from the West (Murraysburg), follow the road until you reach the 4 way stop at Somerset/Stockenstroom, turn west into Somerset, number 83 is on your left.
