This quaint mountain village is home to just around 350 families, with a close-knit community and a peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the city. The surrounding highlands, often referred to simply as “the mountain” by locals, are home to about 2,500 more residents and are known for their misty mornings, generous rainfall, and rich, green landscapes. With its afromontane forests, hidden kloofs, and rolling grasslands, Haenertsburg offers a refreshing contrast to the drier bushveld found elsewhere in the province. It’s a haven for hikers, cyclists, and outdoor lovers, with trails and scenic routes weaving through pristine natural beauty. The area is just over an hour’s drive from Gauteng, making it a popular weekend escape. * Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or full payment, depending on booking terms.
* A valid ID and payment are required upon check-in.
* We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and bank transfers.
* Viewpoint Estate is a non-smoking establishment. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
* Damage to property, including furniture or bedding, due to smoking, will be charged to the guest.
* To maintain a peaceful environment, please keep noise to a minimum, especially during quiet hours (22h00 to 07h00).
* Disruptive behaviour may result in immediate termination of your stay without a refund.
* Parties are not permitted.
* Guests are responsible for any breakages or damages to Viewpoint Estate property.
* Damages must be reported within 5 hours of arrival and paid for by the guest responsible.
* If hair is dyed, please cover pillows and cushions with your towels to prevent staining.
* Pets are not allowed in guesthouse areas but are welcome in the self-catering units.
* Pets must be house-trained, kept off furniture, and not left unattended.
* Owners are responsible for damages caused by pets.
* Pets must be leashed and socialised to avoid conflicts.
* Given our countryside location, owners should ensure pets are protected against ticks and parasites.
* Free on-site parking is available for all guests.
* Parking is at the owner’s risk; Viewpoint Estate is not liable for vehicle or property loss/damage.
* Pool hours: 07h30 to 19h30.
* Exclusively for Viewpoint Estate guests; outside visitors are not permitted.
* Alcohol is not allowed in the pool area.
* Swimming towels are available at reception; bath towels are not permitted.
* Please hang wet towels on the washing lines next to your cabin, not on wooden rails.
* Guests may bring their alcohol to the self-catering units.
* Alcohol can be consumed in guesthouse rooms; in other areas, it must be purchased from our bar, or a corkage fee will apply.
* Lost or forgotten items are held for 30 days. Unclaimed items are disposed of after this period.
* Viewpoint Estate is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property during your stay.
* Registered guests may invite visitors with prior approval from management.
* Unregistered visitors must be signed in at reception; additional charges may apply.
* Children under 2 years stay for free.
* Children aged 2 and above are charged according to the guesthouse pricing policy.
* Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety of their children at all times.
* Self-catering units include fully equipped kitchens.
* Please leave the kitchen clean and dispose of waste appropriately.
* Daily housekeeping is not included; optional cleaning services are available upon request.
* Fresh linens or towels can be provided - please inform us in advance.
* Upon check-in, guests should verify that all kitchen items are in good condition.
* Moving items or appliances between units is not permitted.
* Breakfast is served daily from 07h30 to 09h30 in the dining area.
* Kindly inform us 24 hours in advance of any dietary restrictions.
* Daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and linens are provided.
* Food should not be taken from the breakfast area unless arranged with the staff.

From O.R Tambo International Airport: 1. Leave the airport and follow signs to the R21 highway toward Pretoria. Take the R21 North and drive for about 33 km. 2. Merge onto the N1 North toward Polokwane (toll road). Stay on the N1 for about 265 km. Near Polokwane, take the R71 exit toward Tzaneen. 3. Continue on the R71 for approximately 57 km, passing through a few roundabouts. Turn left at your final turn - your destination will be on the right.
