Ukutula Lodge is conveniently situated within an hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
The game farm comprises 260 hectares of unspoilt bushveld boasting a variety of antelope species, giraffe and zebra.

Ukutula Lodge is also home to more than 130 different bird species. Known as the place of quiet the lodge is nestled in lush bushveld where the roar of the lion can be heard for miles around.

Ukutula hosts a unique volunteer program that allows participants to work in close contact with the lions. These volunteers get to care for the baby lions, bottle feeding them and seeing to their every need. They also get the opportunity to assist our trained staff in the care of the older lions. Cleaning and maintaining the enclosures as well as helping with the feeding program.

Conference facilities includes the use of our data projector, screen and white board, air conditioned area can fit maximum 120 people for half day or full day conferences.

Enjoy a camp fire dinner in our bushveld styled boma, were you can see the stars in the night sky and hear the lion roar.

Quench your thirst at our fully licensed cash bar. Ask our local barman to whip up his speciality.

DAY VISITORS ENJOY THE UNIQUE EXPERIENCE OF OBSERVING AND PHOTOGRAPHING THE LIONS IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.
Our trained guides will assist young and old to experience the joy of holding a lion cub.

GUIDED BUSH WALK WITH LIONS
Monday Sunday at 08:00 or 16:00
(No children under 12 years allowed minimum height 1.5 metres)
Includes: Tea, coffee & light refreshments and an hour walk into the bushveld to observe our young lions in their natural environment. Fantastic photographic opportunities.
(Program is 1 hour).

LION INTERACTION PROGRAMME
Monday Sunday at 10:00 or 14:00
(Children under 10 are half price & children under 5 are free of charge)
Includes: Tea, coffee & light refreshments, interaction with young lions and a guided tour to the lion, cheetahs, tigers, caracals and hyenas enclosures.
(Program is approx. 2 hours).

DAY PACKAGE
Monday Sunday at 08:00 or 14:00
Includes: Tea, coffee & light refreshments, interaction with young lions, a guided tour to the lion, cheetahs, tigers, caracals and hyenas enclosures and a guided bush walk with lions.
(Program is approx. 3 hours).

Accommodation at Ukutula Lodge:
Primo Chalet (sleeps 3): One bedroom with 1 queen-size and 1 single bed, a kitchenette equipped with a microwave and fridge, and a private bathroom with a shower.
Family Unit (4 Bed chalet): Private kitchen, lounge with TV, bedroom with a queen-size bed as well as 2 single beds in the loft, one bathroom with a shower and a private braai area.
Family Unit (6 Bed chalet): Private kitchen, lounge with TV, 1st bedroom with a queen size bed and a single bed, 2nd bedroom with 3 single beds, one bathroom with a shower and a private braai area.
Cornwallis - Leadwood Lodge: Situated about 15 minutes from Ukutula, relax in a 4 star self-catering lodge which accommodates a maximum of 10 people comfortably. Leadwood Lodge is let exclusively on a one party per night basis with a fixed rate. The 3 main bedrooms are fitted with king-size beds, ceiling fans. The 4th bedroom has 2 double size beds with a bar fridge. The main living area is a spacious open plan design with a bar, snooker table, DSTV and separate scullery. The main area leads out onto a large covered patio with a built in braai and the kiddie`s swimming pool is set back under the trees.

Included in the rates for our accommodation is our lion interaction program: Interaction with young lions and a guided tour to the lion, cheetahs, tigers, caracals and hyenas enclosures
Cancellation Policy:
All bookings cancelled less than 2 weeks prior to booking date will forfeit the full deposit amount.
Bookings that are not confirmed with a 50% deposit within 3 working days will be cancelled and the accommodation will then again become available for other bookings.

Directions:

Directions from OR Tambo International

When you leave the airport you follow the highway leading to pretoria. [ R21 ]
After about 32 kms you must take the highway [ N1 ] to Pietersburg.
After about 15 - 20 kms you will see the N4 highway to Rustenburg.
Follow this highway and after the second toll-gate you must take the first off-ramp [ Brits / Sandton ]
You follow the road into Brits and for exactly 10 kms beyond. There you will find a turn-off to Bethanie.
Take this turn off and proceed for 8 kms .[ last 3 kms are a dirt road.].
This will bring you to our gate on the left.

Directions from Randburg

Go along Hans Strijdom, (R512) all the way past Lanseria Airport
Turn left at the Farm Stall T Junction, onto the Broederstroom Road (R512)
Follow R512 past Peaconwood Golf Estate
Turn Right at Brits sign to go over the Hartebeespoort Dam and cont. on R512
Turn right at T Junction, follow the road
Continue over the famous 4 way stop (Welwitschia Country market)
Continue till you reach the T junction at the R511,where you turn left towards Brits.
Follow the R511 all the way through the town of Brits
Approx 10kms outside of Brits, turn left towards Bethanie.(look out for Ukutula sign)
The Ukutula Gate is 8km further on that road on the left, there is a small section of gravel road.

Alternatively;

Follow R511 from Sandton via Hennops Rivier according to map below.
Stay on the R511, following Brits signs.
Stay on the road marked Brits / R511
Travel through the town of Brits on the R511
Approx 10kms outside of Brits, turn left towards Bethanie.(look out for Ukutula sign)
The Ukutula Gate is 8km further on that road on the left, there is a small section of gravel road.

We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is relaxing and calm. The service was amazing. They have a wonderful management team, we were greeted personal by the personnel at the lodge that really made us feel welcome. The chalets are equipped with everything you need, it was clean and very neat. I will recommend Ukutula lodge to any one!!!
