Located on Hunda Island, Tubu Tree Camp is built in traditional style, with elevated wooden walkways. These camps are designed in traditional safari style and are mostly stylish canvas constructions, often raised off the ground on wooden decks. Located in exceptional wildlife and wilderness areas, all offer superb facilities and accommodation. The camps range in size from 3 to 12 tents.
The wooden walkways connecting eight tents on raised platforms each with picturesque lookouts of the surrounding floodplains from a private deck. En-suite bathroom facilities and an outdoor shower are standard, while a family unit consisting of two adjoining tents and separate bathrooms share a lounge. The main dining and lounge areas and pool are raised to maximise the vistas, and an open bar area is shaded by a large marula tree.
Wildlife seen around Tubu Tree includes elephant, lion, Burchell`s zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, impala, bushbuck and leopard are also seen in the forested areas. The variety of birdlife is impressive, with dry-land species seen on the larger islands and a multitude of wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways.
