Traveller`s Joy was built in 1840 and restored to its former state in 2005. The thick walls, high ceilings and beautiful restored wooden floors, ensure a cool and pleasant atmosphere.
Although this house is part of our National heritage, we have changed the inside of the house, that each room is en-suite, has its own separate outside entrance and patio, offering each guest their privacy.
The rooms are spacious and luxurious with bathrooms en suite (showers only), television, tea and coffee, fridges, fully air conditioned, luxuriously furnished with comfortable double or queen size beds. Our family unit has two inter leading rooms with three single beds and a double bed in the main bedroom.
We have safe and secure off street parking.
We are also within walking distance of all the restaurants. Our guests enjoy this early evening stroll, after a long and tiresome journey.
A plant, by the name of TRAVELLERS JOY, (Clematis Brachiates) growing wild in our area, well known for the healing and soothing of the tired muscles, is exactly what we want every guest to experience - to have a pleasant stay and continue their journey well rested.

From Joburg take the first off ramp to Colesberg, at the stop, turn right, go strait Across the 4way stop, the road turn left at the church at the top of Church street, Follow the main road that will turn right again, go up the hill for 300m Travellers Joy On the left. From Cape town/ PE take the first turn into Colesberg to the right. Go strait accross The 4way stop. The road turn sharp to the left at the High School. From the turn go For 200m, Travellers Joy on the right.
