Kleinbaai is a quiet coastal settlement situated just outside Gansbaai on the southern edge of Western Cape’s Danger Point Peninsula. Nestled within indigenous milkwood trees and coastal fynbos, it serves as the global hub for eco-marine tourism, housing the primary harbour from which boat tours launch for shark cage diving and Marine Big 5 safaris out to nearby Dyer Island and “Shark Alley”. Beyond its ocean adventure footprint, the small village consists largely of holiday homes, a local superette, a petrol station, an ocean-facing 9-hole golf course, a public tidal pool, and the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary (APSS).
