The Cavern Dining Room offers a Table d` hoté menu. This is a set menu which includes a wide variety of meal choices, and always includes a vegetarian entrée. Regrettably, the Cavern does not have an a-la-carte Restaurant and we are unable to cater for other special dietary requirements.
A range of beers and a selection of South African wines are available. The Emaweni Cave bar is fully licenced, and operates between 12h00 & 23h00.
The Cavern offers two types of accommodation (Standard and Superior) which have been rated as a "Superior" family resort by the Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa.
Our Standard accommodation is set in lush garden landscapes with a vibrant mix of indigenous planting, filled with the sounds of birdlife.
Each room has a patio to soak up the sun and enjoy the mountain splendour.

The Cavern Drakensburg Resort more than lives up to its advertising. Anyone visiting the resort will not be disappointed. We booked two nights, so were only there for about three days, as part of our trip to SA required that we had to be in Johannesburg by a certain date. Had it not been for that we would have stayed longer. There was so much to see and do that unfortunately we were only able to scratch the surface. Our accommodation was excellent, well maintained and comfortable. The restaurant food was very good, with a great variety...and the promise that if there wasn't enough on your plate, you could ask for more. There was always a buffet available and the breakfast one was especially nice. I would recommend The Cavern Drakensburg to anyone, single, Married or with Children if any age - you'd love it. But, book a week at least, it's well worth the time and effort to get there...and certainly value for money.
