Tanqua Guesthouse
The Tanqua Guest House is very conveniently situated on the southern boundary of the Tankwa National Park and a stones throw from the Oudebaaskraal Dam. The Guest House offers a range of accommodation and has played host to weddings, teambuilding exercises as well as film and commercial shoots.

Elandsberg Wilderness Camp
Five cottage wilderness camp is situated 18km from the Park Offices at Roodewerf in the hills known as Elandsberge and has beautiful views of the Karoo plains and the imposing Roggeveld Escarpment. Please note accessibility by low-clearance vehicles hampered at present.

Paulshoek Cottage (CO6 - sleeps 6)
The Paulshoek farmstead is quaintly furnished with antique furniture and able to accommodate up to six people. The cottage is situated approximately 5km from the park offices at Roodewerf and has beautiful views of the imposing Roggeveld Escarpment and plains in-between.

- Two bedrooms, 4 beds (1 double bed and 1 single bed per room)
- One bathroom (shower only)
- Open-plan kitchen and living-room
- Braai-facilities
- Fully equipped with linen, cutlery, towels, cooking utensils etc.

Varschfontein Cottage (CO9 - sleeps 9)
The cottage lies is situated 45km from the park offices at Roodewerf within the dry westerly section of Tankwa National Park. The desolate beauty of the area is truly breathtaking and the cottage is the ideal getaway for those seeking a reprive from the human masses.

- Three bedrooms, 6 beds (1 double bed and 1 single bed per room)
- One bathroom (shower only)
- Open-plan kitchen and living-room
- Braai-facilities
- Reservoir for swimming purposes
- Accessibility by low-clearance vehicles hampered by the occurrence of water relay humps in road
- Access through sedan & 2 x 4 vehicles not advisable in winter

- Gas two-plate stove and fridge
- Paraffin lamps and candles (provided)
- Donkey / boiler, wood supplied
- Hearth inside house for cooking or lighting of fire during cold spells

General Information
- Last stops for fuel (measured from park offices) are Ceres (180km) and Calvinia (110km) or Sutherland (140km closed on weekend).
- Arrivals for accommodation from 14:00 only, departure at 10:00.
- No shops, restaurants, public phones or ATMs in the park.
- General Dealer and Bottle Store in Middelpos.
- No cellphone reception within the park as well as main access roads.
- No credit card or Wild Card facilities available at present.
- Prosopis Wood for sale in park.
- Ask for plant and animal species lists at Reception.
- Bring along insect repellent and sun-block.
- Bring along birding books and other plant and animal field guides as well as binoculars.
- Remember to bring along lots of warm clothing in winter.
- Remember to bring along lots of cool goodies for summer.

Important Notice
1. Accommodation rates do not include Conservation Fees which are payable at the entrance gates.
2. Please ensure that you are familiar with the Rules & Regulations of National Parks before making a booking.
Health and Climate:
The mean July minimum temperature is 5,7°C, and the mean January maximum temperature is 38.9°C with the hottest months being January and February.
Cancellation Policy:
In addition to the full cancellation of a reservation, any amendment to an existing reservation, which results in the value of the revised reservation being less than the original value, could result in cancellation fees being levied, according to the following schedule:
- No cancellation fees will be incurred for cancellations or changes 46 days or more prior to arrival;
- Cancellations fees of 50% of the total reservation is payable for cancellations and changes received between 45 and 30 days prior to arrival;
- A 100% cancellation fee is payable for cancellations received within 29 days of arrival;
- A 100% cancellation fee is payable for non-arrivals (no-shows).
If the arrival date of the itinerary is postponed prior to or on date of arrival and then cancelled at a later stage, the fees that applied at the time of amendment will be enforced if the amount is greater than the new cancellation fees.
Modification and cancellation charges may be levied on any other reservations amended or cancelled online, irrespective of the channel through which the reservations were originally made, and subject to the terms and conditions.

- Conservation levy is always excluded from the booking amount and needs to be settled on arrival.

Directions:

From Ceres on the R355
At Tankwa National Park-sign, turn right and keep straight onto the next sign, Tankwa Info offices you will then be able to see the offices from there.

From Calvinia
Stay on the R355 for about 50km. At Roodewerf sign, turn to your left. Keep straight on for another 55km you will see Tankwa Info office sign, turn to your left you will then be able to see the offices.

Office Hours:
Monday - Thursday & Saturday : 08:00 - 17:00; Friday: 08:00 - 21:00; Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00

Road conditions
The road gravel is sharp and often loose, and a great deal of caution needs to be taken with corners and sudden stops.

Take along enough drinking water, especially during hot conditions.
