Tandweni Villa is an exclusive use private modern Villa in the Pongola Game Reserve on the banks of Jozini Dam. A place to relax and breath in the fresh air away from your busy, stressful lives, a bush setting with a breathtaking view of the dam. This large luxurious Villa offers expansive open spaces with large glass doors and windows welcoming the outside in. It has its own boma to enjoy outside fires under the stars, a private well stocked gym and large pool with outdoor living area. The large luxurious suites all open up onto the large garden with their own patios to relax outside and take in the breath-taking view. With its own grass airstrip access becomes a little more convenient. We offer fully Catered package which includes all meals and activities for your stay.
The Villa is incredibly child-friendly with a large fenced garden, massive jungle gym with hidden gems in the sand pit for kids to discover. The guides put out a water slip n slide on the lawn in the summer months for kids to have some fun. The kids get given a wildlife scavenger hunt list which the guides take them on a mini bush walk on the airfield to complete.
Activities offered at Tandweni Villa:
An incredibly informative guided bush walk with Sibusiso where he explains the important roles indigenous plants and wildlife play in the Zulu culture and beliefs. His knowledge of the plants, birds and animals is fascinating! We are in a Big 4 Game Reserve so we do game drives with a drinks stop in the Bush. We are famous for our Tiger Fishing With Jabulani, the boat comes kitted with rods and tackle for Fishing or you can just enjoy a boat cruise spotting wildlife along the waters edge. Afternoon sundowners at our lookout point which has the most amazing views over Jozini Dam, followed by a night drive back to the villa. Morning barbel fishing from the banks of Jozini Dam with a skottle bush breakfast setup, this is an absolute must and so much fun for the whole family!
Fully-catered packages include activities, however self catering they are an extra cost. We have some of the best Tiger fishing in South Africa, the villa comes with a skipper and guide as well as a fully equipped boat with all your rods and tackle. The boat can comfortably fit 10 Adults for a full or half day fishing trip.
One of the highlights is finding the large herd of elephant frolicking in the water on the hot summers days. We offer game drives and guided bush walks with our guide Sibususo who has incredible knowledge of how indigenous plants play such an important role in the beliefs and Zulu culture.
We have over 400 different bird species in our area for the avid birders, a early morning bush walk is a must.
We offer afternoon sun downers and barbel fishing on the banks of Jozini Dam which is a fun activity for the whole family, the guides help bait the rods up while you get to enjoy your drink while you wait for the fish to bite!
Kids Activities: On the hot summers days we put a slip n slide on the lawn for the kids to have some water fun. There is a large jungle gym with sandpit which we have hidden gemstones inside which keeps them busy for hours, they get to take their treasures home. The kids also get a bush scavenger hunt list which the guides take them on a mini bush walk to explore the bush.
