Sunset View at Whale Cove

As a family we have always been animal lovers and marine mammals have had a fascination for all of us. Our eldest daughter and her partner are avid star gazers and it is in De Kelders that they are able to do this to their hearts desire. Our middle daughter and her partner are both involved in a marine mammal related job and have a special fascination for Whales. Our son is an outdoor person and is studying Sports Science at Stellenbosch University. Gansbaai offers him a chance to be in his `happy place`!

We spent many years travelling South Africa looking for a place that we could call home in our retirement. Many years of searching came to an end in December 2013. Our children wanted to do Shark Cage Diving and we decided that it would be a great Christmas present for them. We booked the Shark Cage diving experience and found an apartment to rent for 2 days. We walked into the apartment and immediately knew that this is where we wanted to be! 4 months later we were the owners of our Sunset View at Whale Cove apartment.

Sunset View at Whale Cove is a well-equipped, 3 bedroom sea-front apartment ideal for whale watching, in season. Gansbaai has some awe inspiring sunsets which are ideally enjoyed from the balcony. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We are 5 mins from the Shark Cage diving harbour in Kleinbaai. The `drupkelders` are directly beneath us! Beautiful walks are available from the apartment along the natural vegetation of the unspoiled Cape coastline.

The town is small and has a few restaurants worth visiting.

Accommodation at Sunset View at Whale Cove:
There are 3 bedrooms containing a queen size bed, double bed and two single beds respectively. The Main bedroom has an en suite shower room. The double and single room share a bathroom which contains a bath. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom.

There is a lounge and a television room. The television room has a television and a basic DSTV package. There is a DVD player and a mobile wifi router is supplied.

There is a dining room with 6 seater Dining room table. The balcony contains a gas barbecue and a gas heater for the chilly winter days. Linen and towels are provided, but there are no swimming towels supplied.

The kitchen has basic supplies, a microwave, kettle, toaster, 4 plate hob and an oven. There is also a washing machine.

Guests have full access within the apartment except for the linen cupboard in the full bathroom and the white trunk in the television room. You are welcome to use the gas braai, but we request that it be cleaned by yourselves before your departure. An additional cleaning charge (R100.00) is levied through the breakage deposit if it is left dirty. Any of the items in grocery cupboards is for the use of guests. The gas heater on the balcony is for use by guests during winter months. Should the gas bottle run out this can be exchanged at the hardware in Gansbaai. (Location: Turn left at the 1st 4 way stop after the Spar Centre to the Hardware store). This gas heater must NOT be used indoors.

Electricity is for the account of the owner. We endeavour to make sure that there is always plenty of electricity available, but in an unforseen event, please call us and we will send you a code to recharge.
