Sonnekus, gracious old lady of a bygone era, sits proudly at the foot of the majestic mountains in St James with the waters of False Bay at her feet. Built circa 1926, the house has been lovingly restored and converted into guest house of rare quality.
Guests are invited to relax on the spacious verandah overlooking False Bay or in convivial surroundings in the comfortable furnished lounge with its feature fireplace.
Rates at Sonnekus include a full Breakfast, served in the homely Dining room. Tea/coffee making facilites are provided in all the rooms and picnic lunches can be supplied on request.
Numerous restuarants catering for all tastes are located within a 2km radius of the Guest House, in Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek. You are invited to enjoy a glass of good Cape Wine in the lounge while your hosts do your restuarant bookings.

The Verandha looks out over False Bay, from Gordon's Bay through to Simon's Town. With the beach directly across the road, you can enjoy the comforts of home on the beach, literally.
The Hallway boasts fully restored Oak floors and Teak doors that adds to the warm welcome that awaits our guests on arrival.
The Lounge is large, spacious and has a beautiful fireplace. A television, video machine, various books, games and other entertainments are readily available.
The Dining Room is where the Buffet Breakfast is served. There is also a Fireplace to warm those chilly Winter mornings.
The Pool Room contains a luxurious Jacuzzi for recovering from that long, hard day. It is beautifully set up in the centre of the house, and contains all you would need to relax and ease your tired muscles.
Sonnekus offers guests a choice of well appointed, en-suite bedrooms, three with olde world fireplaces and one with it`s own lounge.
Some bathrooms have a seperate bath and shower, while others have a shower over a luxurious corner bath.
Each room/suite has an overhead fan, heater, tea/coffe tray, telephone, alarm clock radio and television for your convenience
Each room has been tastefully decorated in its own individual style, drawing inspiration from splendid sea and mountain views.
