Shepherds Tree Game Lodge is a lodge concession awarded by the North West Parks and Tourism Board within the existing Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The entire lodge lies in an exclusive use zone in the south-western portion of the 57,250ha, Big 5 and malaria free Reserve. The magnificent main lodge acts as a central gathering point and social environment for all guests as well as the point from which all the activities depart and return .
The featured architecture and interior design are the hallmark of the whole lodge, and flawless finishes leave no detail overlooked. The lodge offers commanding views of the distant bushveld amphitheatre and is superbly positioned adjacent to the Pilanesberg Game Reserves Wilderness Area, thus offering the opportunity of walking trails in this untouched environment. Guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily which are conducted in the Pilanesberg during the morning and evening when you are guided by your game ranger in an open 10 seater game viewing vehicle. The game drives will take between three and four hours, with a sundowners stop at sunset and a coffee stop in the morning.
Shepherd`s Tree Game Lodge is situated in the North West Province and is in a malaria free area close to Sun City and is approximately 2.5 hours drive from Johannesburg.

EXECUTIVE SUITES
The Executive Suites offer an en-suite master bedroom with an en suite indoor steam shower and double outdoor shower. The units each have a lounge which has has a flat screen television with selected DSTV channels. The lounge leads out onto a patio that overlooks the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Health and Climate:
The North West Province has a fantastic climate and assures almost year-round sunshine, with sporadic thundershowers cooling the summer afternoons.
Pilanesberg lies at an altitude of 1043m on latitude 25º20' South and longitude of 27º10' East. This region is characteristic of quintessential Africa and forms part of the southern Kalahari semi-desert with average temperatures lingering around 28ºC. Summer temperatures reach an average daily maximum of about 31ºC and an average daily minimum of 18 ºC.
The dry winter season lasts from April to September and weather is generally pleasant during with clear skies and warm days but cold nights, particularly in the mid-winter months of June to August. Winter experiences average daily maximum temperature of 23ºC dropping to an average daily minimum of 3ºC at night.
It rains in the summer months of October to March, with thunder and lightning showers principally between December and February. The winter is the finest time for game viewing when the foliage dies back. The animals are more visible and the lack of naturally occurring water concentrates the animals around permanent waterholes.
Pilanesberg is also a malaria free area.

Cancellation Policy:
1. A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required within 7 days. Full payment of the balance is due 30 days prior to guest/s arrival, unless the
booking is made within 30 days of travel, in which case full prepayment will be required immediately
2. Bookings cancelled or amended 60 to 30 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of total accommodation amount
3. Bookings cancelled or amended 29 to 15 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 75% of total accommodation amount
4. Bookings cancelled or amended 14 to 0 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 90% of total accommodation amount
Directions:
The recommended route follows the N4 west before turning north onto the R556 while following the Pilanesberg signs. Continue past Sun City entrance and Bakubung Gate turn-off and proceed to the 4-way stop.
Turn right onto the R565 and proceed for 12 km to the Shepherds Tree Game Lodge entrance.
