Salt Rock was once the home of King Shaka, ruler of the ancient Zulu tribes that lived off this land. His maidens would come to this region to collect salt for the king’s home and to use as currency with traders. Today, though, it is the scenic beaches and tidal pools that continue to lure visitors back year after year. These beaches are perfect for long, lazy days spent tanning, playing ball, tossing a Frisbee, or heading into the water for a surf.
