Sasi Bush Lodge encompasses three luxury accommodation units; sleeping a maximum of eight adults; and a main unit with a lounge, dining room, bar, rim-flow pool, outdoor deck and boma area with a fire pit. Each luxury unit has a kitchenette with a mini bar fridge, tea and coffee station and basin; an open air bathtub, a rain shower and a private toilet. Views overlook the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains and Kilburn Dam; and free-roaming planes game mosey leisurely through the property. Our most frequent local visitors include giraffe, ostrich, zebra and wildebeest.
We offer various on-site activities including adventure game drives, rock art tours and hiking trails to be enjoyed at your leisure.

Health & Climate
Sasi Bush Lodge is situated in the beautiful Northern Drakensberg, where the climate is generally pleasant and comfortable for outdoor activities, but mountain weather can change quickly. Guests should be prepared for warm days, cooler mornings and evenings, and occasional summer thunderstorms.
Climate
-Summer (November–March): Warm days with afternoon thunderstorms and lush green landscapes. Rain can be heavy at times, so a waterproof jacket is recommended.
- Autumn (April–May): Generally mild and settled, with cooler evenings and beautiful clear mountain days.
- Winter (June–August): Crisp, dry days with cold mornings and evenings. Temperatures can drop significantly at night, particularly at higher elevations.
- Spring (September–October): Warmer days, cooler evenings and the landscape beginning to burst into new growth and wildflowers.
The weather in the high Drakensberg can change rapidly, particularly during hikes, so guests should always carry suitable layers, sun protection and a waterproof outer layer.
Health & Wellbeing
Sasi Bush Lodge is situated in a non-malaria area, unlike some of South Africa’s northern lowveld destinations. However, insect repellent is recommended, particularly during warmer months.
Guests participating in guided walks and mountain hikes should be reasonably fit and bring appropriate footwear, drinking water, sun protection and any personal medication they require.
We recommend that international travellers consult their doctor or travel clinic before travelling to South Africa regarding any individual medical requirements, vaccinations or medication.
For peace of mind, guests should ensure they have adequate travel insurance, particularly when participating in hiking and outdoor adventure activities.
Important: Mountain activities are weather dependent. Our guides may alter or postpone an excursion if conditions are considered unsafe, particularly during thunderstorms or severe weather.
Wake up to views overlooking the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains from the comfort of your king-sized or twin beds. With a open-air bathtub and shower revealing the surrounding natural environment, we will be spoilt with beautiful views and animal sightings. Sasi Bush Lodge welcomes children aged 9 years and older. Our lodge is designed as a peaceful, intimate bush retreat, and we ask that parents and guardians help us maintain the tranquil atmosphere for all guests.
Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout their stay. Guests under 18 years of age may only check in when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
While we welcome families with older children, Sasi Bush Lodge does not have dedicated children’s facilities or a children’s menu. Meal times and activities are therefore designed primarily with adults in mind, and parents are asked to consider this when planning their stay.
Our activities, including game drives, guided walks and mountain excursions, can be discussed with our team so that we can help create an itinerary appropriate for the family.
Sasi Bush Lodge is particularly suited to families with older children who enjoy nature, wildlife, hiking and outdoor adventure, while still appreciating the peaceful and intimate atmosphere of a luxury bush lodge.
