Our main lodge offers a cozy sitting area and a small bush library where you can read and relax after an outing in the African savannah. We also offer a lounge deck with lounge chairs and an outdoor fire pit (boma), or you can enjoy the plunge pool with a refreshing sundowner drink. It is our aim to let you unwind and be indulged within the beauty and serenity of the wilderness of Africa.
With our choice of furniture and style, we have created an atmosphere of the romance of those early safaris combined with nowadays comfort and luxe. From your private deck, you can overlook the lit-by-night waterhole, where animals often come to drink. The tents are well appointed and have a luxurious décor and en-suite bathrooms. Our choice for canvas tents ensures that you will sense the beautiful nature of Africa even in your dreams while sleeping surrounded by the African Bush and under the African stars.

The rustic-chic lodge merges comfortable and stylish ambiance with the natural environment. Parsons Hilltop Safari Camp is an unfenced camp; all the animals in the Greater Kruger Park can roam free around. We have two waterholes that are filled up daily and that cozy lit at night. Here, the animals often come to drink and you are able to capture this spectacular viewing from your own private veranda.
Attractions:
Parsons Hilltop Safari Camp is nestled within the wilderness and undisturbed biodiversity of the bushveld. The unfenced park allows for free roaming wildlife between the Balule Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. Guests can experience the African wildlife with our highly experienced ranger guide on the game drive in an open game vehicle or, if interested, on foot.
We offer early morning and late afternoon game drives in an open game vehicle on our Nature Reserve. We stop for coffee/tea in the morning and for the famous sundowners on the evening drives. One safari drive is included in your stay and you can always request for more drives or bush walks upon if you are interested.

The classic tent Guineafowl offers the best view on the waterhole where animals often come to drink. It has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and a viewing deck.

Directions:
Driving from Johannesburg: From OR TAMBO airport, take the N12 (Boksburg lane!) towards Witbank (=eMalahleni). Go past eMalahleni and turn left at Belfast on the R540. Drive through Dullstroom, Lydenburg and Orighstad towards Hoedspruit. Follow further instructions below under ‘Driving from Hoedspruit’. on our website.
Driving from Polokwane: Follow the R71 from Polokwane to Tzaneen through to Gravelotte and continue on the R71 (do not turn to Phalaborwa at Gravelotte) but continue to the T-junction, turn left, continue for 700 metres, than turn right off the R40, where you see the Balule Parsons Gate (sign is on the left, the Gate is on the right side of the road).
Driving from Hoedspruit: Turn left at Hoedspruit and take the R40 towards Phalaborwa. Pass Mica village,keep going, pass a Engen fuel station (Sameys) on your right.Turn right after approx 500 metres after, at the Balule Parsons Gate (sign is on the left, but the GATE is on right side of the road). On the Reserve, from the Gate: At the gate you will pay an entrance fee of R60 per person and R100 per vehicle.
If you encounter wild life, enjoy the sighting, always give the animals right of way and keep a safe distance. Do not turn off your engine, do not go outside the car or hang outside the windows.
You will continue straight along the gravel road. You will continue for about 5 kms and get to a building where there is a gate saying Nyati to the right. Do not turn off, just continue straight. Follow the road to the right and continue straight along the fence line. You will start going past sign boards with number and names.
Do not turn off anywhere, you continue straight and go past a sign to the left saying: Raptors Retreat, and then another sign, to the left, saying ‘Elephant game lodge.’ The next road right is the road to the lodge with the sign Parsons Hilltop SafariCamp. Here you will turn right and just follow the road up to the camp.
