Set on the beachfront, Oystercatcher House offers a relaxing and picturesque setting for vacationers or those seeking a getaway.  We offer quality self-catering accommodation. T

he village of Pearly Beach is situated along the famous Whale Coast Route in South Africa, in an area of outstanding beauty and undulating dunes, with the Atlantic Ocean in front and the Wolfhuis Mountain as a backdrop.

Pearly Beach, as its name suggests, boasts some of the most amazing unspoilt beaches to be found.  This area is known for its breathtaking scenery.  This elevated house offers unforgettable and unobstructed sea views.

The main living area is designed with an open-plan layout so guests can enjoy the beautiful views while moving about.  Watch the ocean (and whales) while having coffee in bed, as the seaside bedrooms feature French doors which open onto the spacious deck.

The kitchen has a pass-through window to the deck.  The house is divided into upstairs and downstairs spaces with separate entrances.  We have the main upstairs house with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, and then we also have a private suite with a separate entrance downstairs.  The suite is fully independent, with its own kitchenette, bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a small TV lounge.  The kitchenette is equipped with a 2-plate gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and full-size fridge-freezer.

Upstairs, the main house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  First, we have a lovely master bedroom with a sea view, a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and a separate toilet room.  The second bedroom, with a sea view, also has a queen-size bed. The third bedroom has a double bunk bed at the bottom, with a single on top.  It has a mountain view.  These two rooms share a full bathroom.  Towels and bed linen are supplied.    The open plan living area includes a modern kitchen with high-quality appliances to make self-catering a pleasure.  The kitchen comes fully equipped with a gas stove, an oven, microwave, washer/dryer, kettle, toaster and full-size fridge freezer.  A sitting room, with a smart TV, and a dining room with breathtaking views of the ocean, all opening onto the deck.  A smart TV and access to free Wi-Fi are available, ensuring guests stay connected while enjoying the serene surroundings.

The outside entertainment area includes a built-in barbecue with a cosy hangout area under the trees.  The spacious deck, with its tables and deckchairs, is an ideal spot to sit and admire the ocean views with a coffee or breakfast, or else enjoy the most beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine in hand.

Oystercatcher House is situated near a pristine 11 km long stretch of beach where you can safely walk for miles in both directions.  (We are only about 50 m from the shore.)  On the beach, you will come across a variety of birds like sandpipers, oystercatchers, seagulls and many more.  It is truly a secluded getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, providing opportunities for hiking, biking, and more.

Here on the whale coast, you can experience some of the best land-based whale-watching in the world (June to November).  At Oystercatcher House, spotting them directly from the house and deck is a daily occurrence.  Dolphins, seals, tortoises and a myriad of species of birds also provide a delightful contact with nature.  You will mostly find everything you need at the Pearly Beach Shop, which is situated at the gate to the Pearly Beach Resort, just off Main Road.

There are also supermarkets and shops in Gansbaai (24 km away) and Hermanus (70km away).  We are well-positioned as a weekend escape from Cape Town or Johannesburg, as we are only about two hours from Cape Town International Airport.  The roads are first-class and in top condition.

The scenery captivates you.  Oystercatcher House provides the perfect getaway from city life, with a peaceful ambience and seaside charm.

Whether relaxing on-site or exploring nearby attractions, guests are sure to enjoy an unforgettable stay.  Your hosts, Charl and Lorraine, are close by if anything is needed.
