Welcome To Oyster Box Guesthouse. Located on Walvis Bay’s beautiful Lagoon, Oyster Box Guesthouse offers 12 rooms of classic comfort for holiday tourists, business people, families, and water sports enthusiasts. The Lagoon is a RAMSAR site and indeed the most important coastal wetland in southern Africa. It is home to a large number of resident species and a way station for African and Palearctic migrant birds. It is also famous for its thousands of Lesser and Greater Flamingos and has been listed by RAMSAR as a natural heritage site. The Southern African Birding Society says: “Although there are many rare and special species, it’s the sheer number and diversity, especially of visiting migrants, that is a major attraction. After partaking in Oyster Box’s hearty breakfast, you can unwind on our open deck and spend the day soaking up the African sun. At the end of the day indulge in our customary “sundowner” in our sheltered lounge and bar where you might just meet somebody interesting from the other side of the world, from Sweden or Chile, from Japan or Costa Rica. Dinner is served at one of three restaurants within walking distance of Oyster Box Guest House. If you want to venture further afield, the restaurants in town are only a five-minute drive away. Whatever your needs may be, our friendly staff will assist you and will do their best to ensure that you have a fabulous time at Oyster Box Guest House.

There are many restaurants and pubs nearby, some within walking distance, and with the charming town of Swakopmund only 30km away, you will never get bored. If you don’t feel like driving, we can arrange transport for you to get to the airport or visit Swakopmund. We can likewise assist you in your arrangements of leisure time activities on the lagoon or in the desert and surrounding areas.
