Bain’s Retreat at Outeniqua Mountain Lodge
The Original Building dates back to 1860. Thomas Bain entertained and housed guests in DeVlugt whilst the pass was under construction. The location is on the lower part of the farm, some distance away from the tented camp, fresh water pool and lodges. This makes it more private and ideal for bird lovers and privacy seekers as its location is close to the Kwaai River.
If more than 2 Guests should share, please note that the open plan lay-out and sleeping arrangements of this cottage does not offer privacy. This basic, clean and rustic house offers a living/sleeping area with six stackable black wood beds. The room boasts a large indoor fire place, ideal for keeping warm on cold winter nights or even to enjoy an indoor braai if it should rain.
