Nyala Safari Lodge is a big 5 safari lodge in the newly formed Mohlabetsi Private Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced border to the Balule and the Greater Kruger Park.

Based in the midst of the South African bush, we promise you an unforgettable experience as our trained guides take you on a step by step journey through the African Wilderness.

Our approach is to focus on all aspects of wildlife and not just chasing after the big 5, that is but a small component of the wilderness experience.

Facilities at Nyala Safari Lodge:
Whilst the safari game lodge is surrounded by a secure fence to ensure the safety of our guests, there is still the opportunity for smaller wildlife such as monkeys, antelope and a variety of birds to frequent the lodge.

One of our best features is a prominent waterhole, carefully positioned in front of the safari game lodge and permanently floodlit.

The viewing deck is situated under shady trees and hours in between activities can be spent in leisure observing animals visiting the waterhole.

In between daily activities there is also the option of relaxing by the pool.

Accommodation at Nyala Safari Lodge:
The safari lodge accommodation comprises five thatched rondavels (chalets) situated on the banks of the perennial Mohlabetsi River. Staying in the chalets, you get to share the kitchen and other facilities with the other people in the camp. To have the exclusive use of all facilities book the camp as a group of friends or family.

Safari Activities:
This Big 5 Reserve boasts large populations of giraffe, zebra and other game species.

A typical daily safari activities program starts with an early morning game drive safari.

A combination of guided walking safari and game drives can be undertaken on request.

After a relaxing afternoon siesta the sundowner/evening game drive safari departs. The night drive will continue after the sundowner break.

When dusk falls a whole new world of nocturnal species awake to roam the African bushveld savanna. Nightly game drives offer the perfect opportunity to see nocturnal wildlife such as the Lesser Bush baby and African Wildcat.

Back at the lodge guests can relax around the fire and preparing dinner.

Extended stays at Nyala open the opportunity of self drive half or full day tours to Kruger Park, cheetah breeding centre, raptor rehabilitation centre, cultural village and many more guided excursions to enhance an extended stay of four nights and more.
