Nkuwa Wilderness Camp offers an authentic and soulful safari experience in the heart of the Selati Game Reserve, a vast Big Five wilderness area in Limpopo bordering the Greater Kruger National Park. The reserve spans over 27,500 hectares of pristine bushveld, where wildlife roams freely, and the rhythms of nature set the pace of life. Nkuwa Wilderness Camp is located in the heart of the Selati Game Reserve, a vast Big Five wilderness area in the Limpopo, bordering the Kruger National Park. The Reserve spans 27 500 hectares of pristine bushveld, where wildlife roams freely. WHAT TO PACK * During the summer months, the weather can be hot and sticky. You may want to bring a few outfits. * Comfortable walking shoes, Sun hat, sunglasses and sunblock * Cameras and binoculars * Light, neutral coloured clothing * Warm jackets are essential in winter (May - Oct) * Beanie and gloves, the mornings are cold during winter.

Attractions:

WILDLIFE * During the dry season, vegetation is sparse, and wildlife congregates around the waterholes, making game viewing easier. In the wet season, wildlife is more dispersed as the bush becomes lush. Guests can expect to see the Big Five during a 2-3 night stay. * Other animals commonly encountered include giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala, kudu, waterbuck, wildebeest, bushbuck, baboon, and hyena. * Birdlife is abundant, with species such as hornbills, rollers, eagles, kingfishers, and starlings frequently spotted. The diversity of habitats across Selati means there's always a chance of spotting rarer species such as wild dog, cheetah, or civet.

If cancelling 45 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.

Directions:

Directions from Hoedspruit Airport to Selati Game Reserve, Gravelotte. It'll take you about 55 minutes to cover the 68.1 km, but just a heads-up, you'll be hitting some private or restricted roads along the way. 1. Start at Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport: Head southwest for about 60 m, then take a right. Keep in mind, this bit is a restricted road. 2. Get onto Argyle: Turn right onto Argyle Road and follow it for 5.9 km until you hit the main road. 3. The Long Stretch: Turn right onto the R40 (Klaserie Road). You'll stay on the R40 for a good 38.3 km. 4. The Turn-off: Look out for the R526 and hang a left. Follow this for another 23.1 km. 5. The Final Stretch: You're almost there! Turn right for 160 m, then take a slight left for 110 m. 6. Arrival: Go straight for 91 m, turn right, and then a quick, slight right. Selati Game Reserve will be right there on your right.
