The farm Namibgrens runs in the Rabie family since 1940. The old spacious farmhouse, Namibgrens Guest Farm has been renovated and turned into a relaxed haven for tourists surrounded by a lovely garden.
We have no swimming pool, but the four earth dams around the farmhouse more than compensates. Besides our summer temperatures are not very high, 10C lower than the Namib Desert, due to the high altitude (1760m above sea level).
The farmhouse with a lovely garden and surrounding earth dams, provide the opportunity for bird watchers to explore the mysteries and grace of the wide variety found in the area during the summer and winter season. Pelicans, Flamingos and Black Eagles are occasionally spotted.
Namibgrens Rest Camp is situated 170 km south west of Windhoek on the road via Spreetshoogte Pass to Sossusvlei and the coast.
The Rest Camp is situated on the escarpment that provides ever-lasting views over the Namib Desert. Different scenes from different angles are possible by either driving on the main road, guided farm tours or by hiking trails.
The rocky and ever changing landscape with its rich fauna and flora allows the hiker to explore nature on the challenging and picturesque dassie hiking trails that vary from 2 hours to 3 day hikes.
The trails provide breathtaking scenes over the Namib Desert and the farm itself and not to mention Klipspringer, Mountain Zebra, Kudu, Dassies, Baboons and Steenbok that can be seen on the trails.
The view from the escarpment onto the Namib desert below the Spreetshoogte Pass is breathtaking. We offer scenic and game drives to those who prefer not to hike. Excursions to view Bushmen Paintings in the vicinity can be arranged.
Namibgrens is ideally situated for day excursions to the Sossusvlei Dunes and Sesriem Canyon. The Moon Landscape of the Kuiseb Canyon consist of Eland, Kudu, Gemsbuck, Klipspringer, Steenbuck, Duiker, Dassie and Baboon.
A wide variety of Bird Species can be spotted in close proximity to the Rest Camp.

From Windhoek: Take C26 for 30Km, then turn left on C26 again for 70Km, turn left on 1265 for 60 Km, at Nauchas you be see our sign board, turn right on 1275 for 7 Km.
From Walvis Bay Take C14 for 223 Km, turn left on 1275 for 50Km.
From Solitaire: Take C14 to Walvis Bay for 10Km, turn right on 1275 for 50 Km.
Airstrip: (south 23, 35 and east 16, 16).
