The five-star Nambiti Hills Private Game Lodge, situated in the Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve, is ideal for private getaways for the discerning traveler, intimate weddings or corporate strategy meetings.

Its lofty glass-enclosed dining and lounge areas provide panoramic views of rolling hills and savannah by day, and thousands of stars in the clear night sky. A wide veranda with its neighbouring bar spills out onto a waterfall that splashes into a rock pool where guests can float on cushions whilst sipping cocktails.

Nambiti Big 5 Game Reserve is home to elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino, as well as over 30 other animal species, it is also rich in bird life and indigenous flora.

Four indoor wood fires and two outdoor boma fires offer warmth, intimacy and another place to dine. There are also discreet enclaves leading off the bedroom suites where one can enjoy private meals and uninterrupted contemplation.

BIRDING
The Nambiti Game Reserve is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, hosting over 263 different bird species ranging from large predatory birds to much smaller, more colourful species.

Birding drives can be arranged, depending on lodge capacity at the time of your visit.

Clothing and Accessories:

Since we want your safari experience to be perfect and completely comfortable, we recommend a few items that we believe you should remember to bring along:

October to April
Bring casual summer clothes. A warm jersey/sweater would be useful for the cooler morning and evening temperatures.

May to September
Bring casual light clothing, but remember to bring a very warm, insulated or padded parka / jacket for the very cold mornings and nights - a scarf and gloves are very useful too.

All Year
Comfortable walking shoes, track shoes or boots for the bush walks makes life so much easier. Sandals to wear around at meals and within the lodge area. Shorts for the walks and the warm midday periods. Swimming costumes. Sun block/sun hat/sunglasses/lip balm. Extra pair of correction glasses (if you wear them). Contact lens solution and an extra set of contact lenses (if required). Cameras and binoculars. Video camera and a spare battery. (Batteries can be recharged in your suite. Electricity voltage is 220v).

Health and Climate:

Inter months (June - October +- 3° - 25° C)
Bring very warm insulated parkas or bush jackets for the night time safaris. Scarves to keep your neck warm. Jeans and shorts for everyday wear. Light sweaters for midday periods.

Summer months (November to May +- 15° - 38° C)
Cool cotton clothing. Preferable in neutral colour tone. (T-Shirts and shirts). Shorts for everyday wear. Jeans and trousers for evening wear. Sandals to wear at the Lodge (not essential but more comfortable).

- Cancellations between 45 to 30 days prior to arrival - 25% cancellation fee

Directions:

Directions from Johannesburg:
- Head for Ladysmith on the N3. Once you have entered KwaZulu Natal via Van Reenen, look out for the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp (at the bottom of Van Reenens Pass).
- Turn left and drive toward Ladysmith on the R103.
- When you arrive in Ladysmith, drive straight through, following the N11
Road to Newcastle.
- From the last traffic lights leaving Ladysmith travel for
7kms.
- Turn Right onto the D45 Road, follow for 10Kms, at the T-Junction turn right, travel along side the game fence for 4 kms until you reach the staffed gate-house.

Directions from Durban:
- Head for Ladysmith on the N3 Take the Ladysmith/Bergville
Toll off-ramp.
- Turn Right and head for Ladysmith, drive straight through
Ladysmith on the N11 Road towards Newcastle from the last robots leaving Ladysmith travel for 7kms.
- Turn Right onto the D45 Road, follow for 10Kms, at the
T-Junction turn right, travel along side the game fence for 4
kms until you reach the staffed gate-house.

Suggested arrival time is after 12 noon with check-in from 13:00pm. Rooms must be vacated by 11:00 am for the convenience of arriving guests. Late departure times can be arranged at the lodge, subject to availability of rooms.

Afriskye introduced an air shuttle service to Nambiti Private Game Reserve from both Durban (Virginia Airport) and Johannesburg (Rand Airport) on 1st April 2011.
