Morokolo Safari Lodge is situated on the northern slopes of the Pilanesberg Mountains in the Black Rhino Game Reserve, recently incorporated into the Pilanesberg National Park, and boasts one the richest varieties of African wildlife, predators, fauna and flora in Africa. We are a boutique, private lodge, tucked away from the rest of the world.

Buffalo regularly roam in this area as they take shelter in remote areas not accessible to other visitors to Pilanesberg National Park. Characterised by a beautiful forest of Tamboti trees the Black Rhino Reserve is home to the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, and White and Black Rhino) as well as cheetah and wild dog. Antelope species include Sable, Tsetsebe, Eland, Gemsbok and Springbok. With a species list of over 354, the Black Rhino Reserve is also a true “birders paradise”.
Accommodation at Morokolo Safari Lodge:
Accommodation is booked on a self-catering basis only in either a 5 Suite Lodge or a 4 Suite Lodge.
The 4 Suite Lodge consists of 4 spacious suites, 3 double suites and 1 family suite. The double suites all have king sized beds and the family suite has a king sized bed as well as two single beds in the open loft for children under 12 to share with parents.
Each suite has an ample en-suite bathroom with modern finishes (with bath and shower), an outside shower is also available in some of the suites. There is a comfy seating area and private patio. All the suites are fully air-conditioned.
The 5 Suite Lodge consists of 5 spacious suites, 3 double suites, 1 family suite and 1 Executive Suite. The double suites all have king sized beds, the family suite has a king sized bed as well as two single beds in the open loft for children under 12 to share with parents.
And the additional Executive Suite has a Queen size bed, lounge area, own kitchen and sleeper couch. Each suite has an ample en-suite bathroom with modern finishes (with bath and shower), an outside shower is also available in some of the suites. There is a comfy seating area and private patio. All the suites are fully air-conditioned.
There is also a tea and coffee station in each room as well as in the main lodge area.
Accommodation includes 1 daily game drive seating a maximum of 10 guests in the vehicle. Additional game drives can be booked on request at an extra cost.
Morokolo Safari Lodge is equipped with its own top-of the range 10-seater open private game driving vehicle with private game-ranger offering you full access to the Pilanesberg National Park during your game drive in the morning or afternoon. We also offer walking safaris.
Nearby, you will find Hot-air balloon safaris, golf, quad biking, archery and water activities.
Morokolo Safari Lodge is situated in a malaria-free area. Temperature vary from 45 degrees Celsius to 10 degrees Celsius. Summer is from December to March.
Our luxury self-catering 4 Suite Lodge consists of 3 Double Suites and 1 Family suite. Each Suite has its own spacious and modern en-suite bathroom including private courtyard with additional exterior shower under the African sky. The lodge also boasts a main area with full kitchen, dining area, lounge area with TV, outside terrace, braai & boma area and private plunge pool.
This lodge can sleep a maximum of 8 adults and 2 children under the age of 12.
Accommodation includes 1 daily game drive which can seat a maximum of 10 guests.
From Pretoria/Johannesburg:
Get onto the N4 toll road to Rustenburg.
Take the R556 off-ramp and travel to Sun City.
Pass Sun City on your right hand side.
Continue for 4 km until you reach a 4 way stop.
Turn right on the R565, Derdepoort Road (Swartruggens) towards Black Rhino Game Reserve. Continue for approximately 29 km through some small villages (beware of speed humps).
Find the thatched entrance and Black Rhino Game Reserve sign on your right hand side. Sign in at the gate and drive directly to the lodge. A standard clearance sedan should be able to reach the lodge. We have 2 entrances to the lodge so please ask at the gate which entrance you should use to reach your suite.

The maximum occupancy per lodge is 10 adults due to parks regulations. However if children are under the age of 12, we can accommodate 2 additional children under the age of 12 over & above the limit of 10 adults.
