Monkscowl Estate provides luxury accommodation in a tranquil setting with mountain, garden, pool and river views. The estate offers two self-catering options and one room-only option, suitable for both short and extended stays.
The Luxury One Bedroom Cottage is a fully self-catering unit furnished with a king-size bed. It features air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a fireplace, a heater and a sitting area, as well as streaming services, TV and Wi-Fi. The full kitchen includes an oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kitchen supplies. The bathroom offers a separate bath and shower, bathrobes, slippers and bathroom amenities. Outdoors, guests have access to a private patio with braai facilities, hot tub, plunge pool, terrace and garden.
The Deluxe One Bedroom Apartment is also a self-catering unit furnished with a king-size bed. It includes a kitchenette equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, air fryer, toaster and kitchen supplies. The apartment offers a dining table, sitting area, streaming services, TV and Wi-Fi. The bathroom features a separate bath and shower. Guests can enjoy the patio, outdoor dining area, braai facilities, terrace and swimming pool.
The Classic King Room is the estate’s room-only option and is furnished with a king-size bed. It includes a bar fridge, coffee and tea facilities, TV and Wi-Fi, with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and a separate bathtub. Guests staying in this room may make use of the communal kitchen and shared outdoor seating area.
Additional features include security systems, safes in all units and wake-up call service. Cleaning service is available on request at no additional cost request. Pets are permitted with prior approval from the owners. Check-in is from 14h00 to 20h00, and check-out is at 10h00. Cots are available on request.

Monkscowl Estate is located on Annandale Road in Stellenbosch, within the Western Cape’s Cape Winelands region. Annandale Road lies to the south of central Stellenbosch and forms part of a well-established agricultural and wine-producing area. The surroundings consist predominantly of vineyards, wine estates and smallholdings, with views towards the Helderberg and Stellenbosch mountain ranges. Stellenbosch is approximately 50 km east of Cape Town and is recognised as one of South Africa’s primary wine-producing districts. The town is home to Stellenbosch University and has a strong focus on agriculture, viticulture and tourism. The area features historic Cape Dutch architecture, wine farms, restaurants and art galleries. The broader Cape Winelands region is characterised by cultivated vineyards, mountainous terrain and rural road networks connecting estates and neighbouring towns such as Somerset West, Paarl and Franschhoek. Annandale Road provides access to major routes, including the R44 and N2, linking the area to Cape Town International Airport and the greater Cape Town metropolitan area. The location offers a rural vineyard setting while remaining within convenient driving distance of central Stellenbosch and regional transport routes.
