The accommodation is a charming combination of eclectic facilities consisting of two original and recently refurbished farmhouses and three picturesque new cottages with all home comforts.
Mkomazana Lodge is perfectly situated for a range of outdoor activities including - high or low `berg walking / backpacking / nature rambling / trout fishing (rates on request) / swimming in crystal clear mountain pools / mountain biking / bird watching.
All of these activities can be undertaken from the property.
You can also canoe or tube in the area (20km away) and play golf, squash or tennis (4ms away). Test your 4x4 / mountain bike / motor bike skills on the famous and formidable Sani Pass which takes you up into the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.
At the top of the Pass is the legendary "Sani Top Chalet" which lays claim to "the highest pub in Africa", but bring your passport. If you do not have your own 4x4, tours up Sani Pass can be arranged.
We have it all, flora; fauna (incl. otter, baboon, reedbuck, eland); wide variety of birds (incl. black eagle & fish eagle); provenance of people past (history; bushman paintings) waterfalls, crystal clear `berg rivers and pools; dams. We guarantee you will not visit just once!

Coot Cottage
Two steps from your private patio and you could be dabbling your toes or swimming in the lake. This charming thatched cottage has loads of character, an open plan lounge with log fireplace, dining room and kitchen looking onto the lake.
Three bedrooms accommodate a total of 6 people (main bedroom has a king size bed and en-suite shower room), second bedroom / twin beds, and a loft bedroom overlooking the lounge/twin beds) sharing a shower room/basin/loo.
Stone House
Tucked away in a private garden, you can sit on your veranda and gaze up Sani Pass. Three bedrooms accommodate a total of 6 people (main has kingsize bed, other two bedrooms each have twin beds, 2 bathrooms, two loos, lounge (with log fireplace), dining room and old fashioned farm kitchen.
Stone Cottage
A charming and tastefully decorated fully self-contained one-bedroomed cottage (double bed) with en-suite shower/basin/loo, lounge with jetmaster fireplace, kitchenette and small private patio.
Can be hired separately as a romantic getaway for two or in addition to the Stone House if extra space is required.
Valley House
Set in tranquil garden overlooking lake, Valley House accommodates 6 people, 3 bedrooms (one with king size bed and 2 with twin beds), 2 bathrooms, lounge with log fireplace, dining room and old-fashioned farm kitchen.
Rose Cottage
This delightful cottage, which has been furnished with romance in mind! Has a lounge, cozy bedroom with double bed, kitchen and bathroom. A Jetmaster fireplace adds ambience for those cold winter nights.
Each establishment has a fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, bedding, towels and is serviced daily. Braai facilities are provided. Firewood available for sale.
From the N3 take the R617 to Underberg and then go to Himeville.
Take the Sani Pass turn off - about 3km from Himeville.
