Mimosa Lodge - In the heart of the friendly and hospitable small country village of Montagu, the rhythm of life is a slower one. Here, you will find the perfect setting to relax, unwind and re-discover another pace in life.
Montagu, an oasis in the rough landscape of the Little Karoo, is on the scenic Route 62, connecting Cape Town and the Wine Lands with the Garden Route.
The Semi-desert climate guarantees, a fantastic Spring Season with flowers and blossoms everywhere and a mild winter with dry sunny days, ideal for hiking. Montagu is well known for its beautifully preserved Georgian and Cape Dutch buildings.
Mimosa Lodge started off as a simple farm house with a thatched roof. For a long time, it was the only other lodging provided apart from the hotel and with changing history, it served as a boarding house, an old age home, a boarding house for teachers and a very basic Guest House.
The current Swiss owners have carefully renovated this historic building, adding todays luxury to the old world charm.
Mimosa Lodge provide a perfect venue to meet the needs of those very special events such as anniversaries, weddings, weekend treats and rewards to special people.
The Dining Room is handsome with tables from indigenous woods, graced by an Art Deco Chandelier and a dramatic set of curtains. The breakfast buffet offers home-baked and home-made treats while the cooked breakfast is freshly prepared on individual request.
The Garden stretches out behind the Main House. Take a stroll through the grounds, to the sweet-scented roses, the apricot orchard, the Karoo Garden introducing you to the plants, shrubs and bushes from our semi-dessert area.
We are fortunate to be able to grow so many of our own herbs, salads and vegetables in our garden from where they come freshly on the table.
In The Club, a piano stands ready in case the atmosphere inspires one to sit down and play for yourself or for a merry round of new found friends. One of our selected Single Malts may just be the right companion to sit next to the log fire or to give the perfect finish to a beautiful summer day.
This perfect getaway near the Robertson Wine Valley and not far from the Breede River Valley, takes some time to explore. The 9 Classic rooms are situated in the main building dating back to 1859. Each room is individually decorated and combines old world charm with todays modern luxuries.
All rooms are en-suite with a shower or a bath with a hand shower.
Garden Suites All Garden Suites are situated in the garden with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
Each room has its own patio and Hi-Fi. All rooms are en-suite with a separate bath and shower.
The Orchard Suite is a one and a half studio room which is just pure luxury. It has its own private champagne pool, balcony, tea & coffee making facilities and a Hi-Fi.
The bathroom is en-suite with a corner bath and double shower head shower.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
Day of booking: a deposit reasonably reflecting the amount of booking is taken
Cancellation at any day before 30 days prior to arrival: 90% of the deposit is refundable
30 days prior to arrival: 75% of the deposit is refundable
21 days prior to arrival: 50% of the deposit is refundable
7 days prior to arrival: accommodation plus breakfast will be charged in full.
In the event of a no-show, the credit card given as guarantee for this booking will be debited with one night‘s accommodation plus meals booked.
From Cape Town on N1, leave at Worcester and take the Route 62 to Montagu.
From the Garden Route on the N12 to Outdshoorn and the Route 62 to Montagu.
