Places of interest
In addition to the "Big Hole" in Kimberley (the largest manmade excavation in the world), there are also the world class William Humphrey's Art Gallery and the McGregor Museum, the famous Boer-war battlefields and the Kimberley Club, that Cecil John Rhodes frequented. 15 minutes from Marrick is the Wildebeest Kuil Rock art tourism centre, which reflects beliefs of the Xam and San groups that can be sensed in the rock paintings and engravings.

The place is in dire need of maintenance. We were in the Impala cottage (which caters for 10) but were a party of 7 and although there was sleeping place galore, the kitchen does not lend itself to cater for 10 persons. The staff was very helpful which we truly do appreciate
