Situated at the foot of the Steenbras Mountain and overlooking the blue waters of False Bay, lies the historical Manor on the Bay Guesthouse. It was built in 1862 and later served as the Summer residence for Sir Alfred Beit family, from Ireland.
We offer affordable accommodation in picturesque Gordon’s Bay, Cape Town. Manor on the Bay 4* Guesthouse is only 20 paces from the beach, where conditions for swimming and sunbathing are perfect. A walking trail under a canopy of Milkwood trees (unique to this part of the Western Cape) leads to a variety of quality restaurants, bars and a unique bookshop. From Cape Town International Airport:
Take the N2 turn-off to your left, just outside the airport - direction Somerset West. Stay on the N2 for about 25 min (through Somerset West). Take the turn off to your right which indicates Gordon's Bay, R44, Kleinmond. This is the last turn off before you start the climb up Sir Lowry Pass. (Make sure not to take the R 44, Strand turn-off.)
In Gordon's Bay:
Carry on with that road until you get to a T-junction (facing a fish & chips caf). Turn right and immediately left into Sir Lowry road. Carry on until you get to another T junction where you turn left into Beach Road. You'll have the sea on your right. Carry on for 500m. Pass Tallas Restaurant, up a small hill, past the church on your left. Manor on the Bay is about 150m from the church, on your left. A black and white board with our logo will indicate the guest house. Go up the ramp and you'll find the security gates where we'll open up for you.
Look out for the 2 big palm trees in our garden.
