Set in the magnificent Maluti Mountains of the Eastern Free State Highlands is Maluti Mountain Lodge. Here overlooking the quaint village of Clarens, guests experience the rare pleasure of the true country quality and hospitality, well known to this secluded enclave of the Malutis.

We are a bikers lodge, accept it. Bikers and Biker clubs are welcome at Maluti Mountain Lodge and opt to stay here due to the facilities that we have to offer, making Maluti Mountain Lodge in Clarens the number 1 stop point for any biker, club or group. Dan Lategan, owner and operator is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and has made sure that the entire lodge is motorcycle friendly.

Most of the rooms have breathtaking views of the mountains and the Lodge gardens are the perfect place for the children to safely explore and play. The swimming pool and lapa offer a wonderful setting for sociable braais.

We have a fully functional dining area that can accommodate large groups of up to 40 seated people and an additional 50 outside on our deck that doubles as a braai area and entetainment facility. We serve continental breakfasts, light lunches and dinners. We also offer an A La Carte menu on request and our restaurant is on our premises for easy meal decisions.

Note that all our rooms are equipped with TV & no DStv channels, Coffee & Tea facilities.

Standard Rooms - Rooms 3-10:

Rooms 3, 4 & 10 each with 2 single beds each - bathroom with either a shower or bath.
Rooms 5, 6, 7 & 8 each with 1 Double bed and 1 single bed in each room, bathroom with shower.
Room 9 with 1 Double bed - bathroom with bath and shower.

Thatched Rondawels - Rooms 11, 12 and 14:

Room 11 with 1 Double and 1 Single bed small kitchenette - bathroom with bath/shower
Room 12 and 14 each with 1 Double bed and 2 Single beds - bathroom with bath/shower

Self Catering Unit:

Room 13 with Small kitchenette with open plan TV area, 2 separate bedrooms consisting of 1 Double bed and 2 single beds - Bathroom with shower.

Mountain View Rooms - Rooms 15-32:

Rooms 15, 16 and 17 each with 2 Double beds and 1 Single bed
Rooms 15 and 17 have a bathroom with shower
Room 16 has a bathroom with shower and bath, Small bar fridge, Room 15 & 16 equipped with microwave
Room 18 has 2 Double beds, Bathroom with bath and shower, Bar fridge
Rooms 19 - 24 each with 2 Double beds in each room, Bathroom with showers

Note: Rooms 29 - 32 do not have a view, 2 Double beds in each room with Bathroom with showers, bar fridge and air con.

Directions:

From Bloemfontein:
Take the N1 North. At Winburg, take the N5 to Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem, follow the route to Harrismith, but look out for the R711 turn-off to the right.
This will lead you to Clarens.

From Johannesburg:
Take the N3 South to Harrismith.
Leave the toll road for Villiers and follow this route: Frankfort, Tweeling, Reitz and then Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem, follow the route to Harrismith, but look out for the R711 turn-off to the right.
This will lead you to Clarens.

From Durban:
Take the N3 North to Harrismith.
Go West to Bethlehem.
Just before Bethlehem, take the R711 turn-off to the left.
This will lead you to Clarens.
