Families can share the Mabula experience. Two children under the age of 12 can be accommodated on sleeper couches in a main room. There are however a number of inter-leading rooms where children can share a room with 2 three quarter beds.

Mabula Villas
Enjoy your very own private safari experience at the stunning Mabula Villa, ideal for small and intimate groups of close friends or family seeking an exclusive lodge experience on their terms.

Design your own safari break consulting with your safari host to determine your daily schedule of dining times, safari drives and additional activities. You have the freedom to tailor-make your bush experience.

Accommodating up to 10 guests, Mabula Villa comprises six well-appointed, light and airy en-suite bedrooms one double and two twins that can be converted in to doubles each with its access to an outside deck offering spectacular views of the bush.

Wake up to natures wake-up call, the distinct coo of the Cape Turtle Dove, step outside on the deck to admire the Waterberg landscape and enjoy a freshly prepared cup of coffee as you fight off the morning chill.

At night over sundowners relax in the private villa boma; an icy Amarula, warm fire and the hissing sound of cicadas provide great company. Have a barbecue under the stars or a long chat until the wee hours of the night. Its your African bushveld experience to do with as you please.

Mabula Villa comes equipped with its own chef, butler, housekeeper, Villa manager, guide and vehicle offering two safari drives a day. While guests have their own facilities, including a fully stocked bar, barbecue and full satellite TV bouquet, they also have full access to Mabula Game Lodges facilities. Guests can also request in-Villa spa treatments ranging from pedicures to massages, while Spanish and Dutch-speaking rangers are available on request.

Children under 12 years of age can be accommodated with parents in the same room (maximum 2). Children 6 11 years are charged the applicable child rates if sharing with two adults. Children 12 years and older are charged full adult rates. The rooms can accommodate a maximum of two adults and 2 children under 12 sharing.

Classic Safaris:
The varied habitats on Mabula Game Reserve provide ideal conditions for an astounding selection of large mammals including the Big Five, other predators such as Hyena and Jackal, and a variety of antelope from Red Hartebeest to Eland, Gemsbok to Blesbok. That’s not to mention the elusive cheetah, cheeky honey badger and the omnipresent crèches of warthogs that flit across ones path during your game drive at Mabula Game Lodge.

Safari drives are offered to lodge guests twice a day once early morning and again in time for sundowners in the late afternoon, and depending on the time of year you visit, each experience can be unique. Watch the vivid change of the seasons as the green thickets and grasslands give way to the bushveld greys and yellows of autumn. Feel the chilly winter air on your cheeks before sunrise and witness the rebirth of the bush as the first summer rains fall and with it the exciting arrival of lambing season.

For panoramic views of the beautiful Mabula Game Reserve, there’s nothing more special than heading up Dicks Hill.

See Impala, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland and Ostrich all graze together on the vast open grassland plains; the herd of elephant crashing through thick bush to get to the juiciest leaves and a shy hippo pair hiding everything but their protruding nostrils under the water.

Horseback Safaris offer a different perspective for wildlife viewing. Benefit from the height and mobility offered from being mounted that sets this opportunity aside from other activities.

Eco Adventure Trails (Quad Bike Safaris)
Participate in an adventure over interesting trails on a Quad Bike. With the emphasis on safety, guides ensure that participants are wearing the necessary safety gear before exploring the reserve. the safari is undertaken on 250cc Suzuki Quad bikes that can be driven in manual or automatic.

Take N1 freeway towards Pretoria. Turn off onto Pietersburg highway. Follow the road to Bela Bela. Take the Bela Bela Settlers off ramp. Turn left at yield sign and proceed for 5kms to T junction turn right into town. Go over bridge and turn left at the garage.

Follow Thabazimbi road. Follow road past the Forever Resorts Aventura down to the traffic circle. At circle turn left on the Thabazimbi Rooiberg road and proceed along for 34kms. Look out for the Mabula trading store. 500m past the store turn right on Rooiberg tarred road. Follow Mabula signs for 11kms to Mabula gate.

Take the Bela Bela Settlers Codrington offramp.
