Love Story Guesthouse offers guest rooms and is located in the hamlet of Paul Roux, in the Free State. The guesthouse offers a blend of old-world charm and fresh, modern touches within peaceful, tranquil surroundings. This rustic, country-style guesthouse features 3 en-suite guest rooms. The room contains a queen or double-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, one offers a bathtub, whilst the others offer a shower only. The rooms feature exposed sandstone walls paired with warm, peaceful earth tones and colours. It includes complimentary toiletries, a wall-mounted heater for cold nights, and a tower fan for hot summer nights.
Our communal kitchen is the heart of the home. All guests are welcome to use the kitchen, which includes a gas oven/cooker, microwave, basin, kettle, and cutlery and crockery. Relax on the large north-facing patio or the south-facing porch. The house has a comfortable lounge with some books and games to pass the time with as life slows down in the countryside.
Guests can escape the hustle of the city and immerse themselves in the surrounding nature, exploring the garden, which features apple, fig, peach, quince, and pomegranate trees. Guests may pick and enjoy the ripe harvest during the season. The guesthouse also has an outdoor fireplace, braai/barbecue facilities, a picnic area, a sun terrace, and a large garden for all your to enjoyment.
The Pink Tricycle is a cosy restaurant located just 900 meters from the Love Story Guesthouse. A little farther on, you have the Rock 1908 Pub & Grill, the Pomegranate and Bell’s Padstal that offers food and drink. For runners and walkers, the Pine Forest, Paul Roux 5 km parkrun takes place every Saturday. It is a trail path, and the start and end points are at the picnic spot in the Pine Forest above Reservoir Road. For other trails in the surrounds on offer, best connect with the Sungazer Pilgrimages. Paul Roux is a small, picturesque town approximately a 1-hour drive from the artist- and adventure-seekers’ town of Clarens, and 91.5 km from the renowned Golden Gate Highlands National Park.
Love Story Guest House is pet-friendly if you make arrangements before your arrival. You are welcome to bring your pets, as long as they do not jump on our furniture and bedding. They will enjoy our big garden. Please bring pet beds so that your pets feel at home. Wolhuter’s Kop Game and Nature Reserve and Dihlabeng Mall in Bethlehem are 40 km from the property.

Paul Roux is a small town in the Free State province of South Africa that produces poplar wood for the safety match industry.
