Life on 3rd is a stylish guesthouse located in a leafy and tranquil corner of the cosmopolitan village of Melville, which is conveniently situated in the heart of the Johannesburg Metropolitan area, South Africa. Our wooden decked courtyard with casual outdoor seating offers guests the opportunity to soak up the African sun or take refuge under the umbrellas whilst enjoying a novel or just relaxing. Our lounge facility, which is separate from the main house, is the ideal informal venue for meetings, workshops, and functions. Accommodation includes a full English Breakfast, which is served daily from 7.00 am - to 9.00 am in our communal dining room.
Breakfast includes a selection of cereals, Ayshire yogurt, fresh fruit, bread eggs, bacon, preserves, fruit juice, and coffee & tea. Dinner and refreshments are available on request. Complimentary coffee & tea is available 24hrs in the dining room.
Guests can look forward to a relaxed and peaceful stay in rooms decorated in a fresh understated style of white and earth tones with hints of red. Offering a choice of fourteen rooms of five different types of which some are in the main house or with private entrances. Located near to Melville’s shops and restaurants. Close to the SABC, the University of Johannesburg.

From the top of Melville on Main Road down towards Beyers Naude, turn right into 8th Avenue at the antique shop on the corner. As you go up 8th Avenue, 3rd street is the first road to cross 8th Avenue. We are on the right hand corner with the red door.
