At the exclusive Le Jardin Villa, accommodation is spread out between the elegant Sir Herbert Baker-style Manor House and a separate Pool Pavilion.

It sleeps a total of 12 in six suites, with an additional three children by arrangement. There are three suites in each building, making it ideal for multigenerational gatherings and celebrations. Outside, in the gracious garden, the Victorian-style Looking Glasshouse is perfect for weddings and celebrations, while the smaller Floral Chapel overlooks the dam.

The Manor House has three en-suite bedrooms: The Dream Suite (master) has a king-sized bed with a bath and shower (en-suite). The Garden Suite (kids’ room) has a double and single bed with a bath and shower (en-suite). The Vineyard Suite has a double bed with a shower (en-suite). A state-of-the-art, central media entertainment area with a fireplace to cuddle up at completes the living space layout upstairs. The downstairs living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with an AGA stove, a formal dining room (seating 10), the sexy blue gin bar and a tasting room with a private cellar for tastings of excellent wines from the sister wine estate, Le Grand Domaine. A spacious drawing room, study and library lead out to a covered terrace overlooking the garden and pool. Personally curated art, sculpture and antiques exude a welcoming feeling of old-world elegance, a gracious home, not a hotel.

The Pool Pavilion includes three bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchenette: The Rockit Family Suite consists of a king-size bed and two single beds with a full bathroom (en-suite), ideal for families. The Full Bloom Suite has a king-size bed and a full bathroom (en-suite). The Into the Wild Suite is downstairs and has a queen-size bed and a full bathroom (en-suite). It sleeps a total of eight guests and all suites have air-conditioners, heated towel rails and underfloor heating. Two of the three suites lead out to the pool, and one is a level below, overlooking the dam. There’s no shortage of adventure and relaxation waiting for you here. Spend your days rowing across the tranquil dam in a handcrafted wooden boat or take the plunge from the Zipline straight into the sparkling water. Gather the family for games of croquet, boules or French cricket on the lawn or retreat to the giant Teepee overlooking the dam. Cool off in the magnificent eco pool, unwind in the hidden Jacuzzi with sweeping views, followed by a soothing steam or an indulgent spa treatment in the comfort of your villa.

The garden is all yours to explore: discover the showman’s caravan, let your children channel their inner pirate at the lookout on the pizza deck, or learn to drive the estate’s vintage 1980s Mini Clubman with the property manager. Join our head gardener in the garden to pick fresh blooms and craft your own bouquet, and leave your mark by planting a rose of remembrance in the rose garden, a beautiful way to commemorate your stay. The property can assist with arranging day tours: a visit to the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden is highly recommended, as are the world-renowned gardens at Babylonstoren Wine Estate. For sport enthusiasts, there are padel courts down the valley at the Woodmill, and golf courses are a short drive away. Le Grand Jardin and its sister wine estate, Le Grande Domaine, are in the heart of the Stellenbosch Wine Route, but Franschhoek, Paarl and the Helderberg routes are a short drive away. Cape Town is a mere 45-minute drive, making this an excellent base to truly relax and explore on day trips.  Le Grand Jardin is less than an hour from Cape Town and a 10-minute drive from the vibrant, historical university town of Stellenbosch with superb restaurants, art galleries and boutiques: the best of both worlds. Experience the peace and privacy of a private villa with its own vineyards in a hidden and little-known valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. For special events and group bookings, please enquire with the property directly.
